How the hell is the word 'man' offensive?

Sorry if I offend you but I don't get it, some chick at school yelled at me for saying "We got some man as a substitute teacher" and she said that's offensive! I don't get it, he was literally a dude with the tittle of Mr. so why is that offensive.

"Y/n!" You here a voice shouting you. "Y/n ! Wake up, sir will see you!"  You didn't care, you were just so tired. You hear someone mumble something but think nothing of it as you fall back asleep. Well try to.

"MISS L/N! This is the third time this lesson! MISS L/N!" Someone slams a book into your desk and you jump up.

"S-sorry sir j-just tired." You reply ending with you getting isolation for the rest of the afternoon. You hate school.

After school your two best friends Lottie (a blue eyed blonde who everyone adores) and Kiera (a green eyed, black haired Emo) decided that because of your shit day at school they would both walk home with you to brighten the mood.You walked down the back alleys of your secondary school but something didn't feel right, like someone was following you all.

"Y/N? Y/n are you listening to me?" You look up to see Lottie clicking her fingers in your face and Keira speaking.

"W-what?" You stutter trying to come back to reality. "I was talking about that ginger guy Aaron. In maths he was trying to back talk the teacher and got kicked out. And..."

Keira rambles on about this Aaron guy while Lottie looks at you and asks "Y/n are you okay? You seem out of it."

"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine just got a weird feeling that's someone is following us."

You wait for the reply but nothing happens so you look up at Lottie to find her blue eyes wide with ffffFfear. "Lottie? Lottie, what's wrong?" Keira asks before you get the chance.

you, "Don't make it known but those five guys behind us have followed us all the way from school but some keep disappearing and then reappearing."

Both you and Keira turn around to see five guys behind you all wearing hoodies so you can't see their faces just their matching black trousers and the colour of their hoodies. One red, one green, one black, one blue and one white. Woah!

"I said don't make it known!" Lottie shouts and the guys behind you start walking faster towards you and your friends.

You quickly look back and grab both friends by the arms and drag them.

"We have to get to a public road now. Just in case." You mutter to them as you drag them round what seem like endless corners that lead you get to the road where the small off licence shop. Good for you it is only ten minutes away from yours and Lotties street and Kiera can always get a lift home from yours. If you make it...

"Hey!" Someone shouts behind you. A male voice. You all run for the road with beating footsteps behind you. Before you can make it to the road Lottie screams and then the world goes black with darkness.

—Tttime skip until you wake up—

"Why won't they wake up? Make them or I-"

"Shut up, you know what the boss said. The ninja has something to do with them."

"We could kill them and just leave that one here to threaten. If we kill these three then we've set an example and they wouldn't want the little water ninja hurt so we could leave her alive."

" NO! We leave them all alive. That's what the boss said."

" Look. That one is awake."

Suddenly something grabs your hair and pulls you off the ground making your eyes fly open and look at who's in front of you. It's a guy in a black hoodie with the hood down revealing black hair and .... black eyes! You struggle but his grip is too strong to break free of.

"You can't leave so stop trying." You look to see another boy in a green hoodie with the same black eyes. This is scary, you want to leave right now!

"What's your name, girl?" You glare at the guy in green, not wanting to answer.

"Hey! I asked you a question!" He comes closer, the guy in black let's go and moves away,and the green one slaps you across the face making you fall back to the floor.

"Now, answer me! Or do I have to hit your little blondie here?" He gestures to Llllǫ̰͍̩̖͐̑͝͝͠t̷̖̙̼͇͓̞̲̽̌̊̉̿t̝̖̻̦̻̜͈͑̿̋͊̈̑̕͞i̫̬̲̲͉̖̭͆͗͊̌̈̈́͊͞e̴̢̯̹̺̻͈̺̳͈͊͂̃̀̈ and you shake your head. "Well, what's your name?" He repeats.

"Y-y/n." You shake trying to get the courage to reply without seeming to be a pathetic child. It didn't work out for you.

"You scared y/n?" A boy in red laughs at you, he too having black eyes.

"Who are you? And what do you want?" You answer with as much courage you can muster.

"Well-" the green one is interrupted by the smashing of the window and five guys in ...ninja gi's?... fly through he window. They wear the same colours but their eyes are normal. Whew!

"Come closer and I'll snap her neck!" The guy in black with black eyes grabs you by the neck and pulls you against him. You grab his arms but you know it won't do anything so you let yourself cry. Your h/l h/c hair sticking to your face. The guy moves his arms and you scream as it starts hurting your neck. You finally know something...
