Yugi's POV
Almost half an hour ago, Kaiba had called me saying that they were on their way back to the house. He said that they will be almost a half hour. So that means they'll be here any minute. I sit in the living room anxiously waiting. I had left Hana in her room. I wasn't ready for him to see her yet. I wanted to wait until it was just us. Bakura and Marik could see her later. Right now, she should meet her daddy first before meeting anyone else.
When I had stopped paying attention, I hear the bell downstairs ring, indicating that someone had walked in the shop. I wanted to rush down there right now, but I didn't want to be too far from Hana just in case she needed me. To calm myself down, I turn my head back to the TV to continue watching a duel tournament that had been going on for the last 2 weeks. The sound of their footsteps became louder. Seconds later, the door to the flat slowly squeaks open. They must think that Hana is asleep. To be honest, i'm not sure if she is or not. She has been staying awake a lot and not sleeping all the time like she used to, but it is possible that she could be.
I slowly turn my head around and then I see him, standing there unbelievably right before my eyes. A huge idiotic grin pulls at the corners of my mouth. He smiles back the same idiotic smile. I feel the need to get up and run to him. When I do, he he pulls me into a huge, warm, loving hug. After a moment, he picks me up and carries me to the couch so that we're not standing in the middle of the room. Yami sits down and holds me close to him on his lap. I feel him those all his head into my hair "I'm so sorry that I had to be away from you two this whole time." He apologizes. Whatever for I don't know. It's not his fault that this happened. "It's okay Yami. It's not your fault." I said softly against his chest, trying to reassure him. "Still, I want to apologize anyways. I feel horrible that I had to leave you alone with the baby for its first year of life." Yami said. "Don't beat yourself up over it. If she knew, she would understand." I tell him. "I'm sure she would." He mumbles. I squeezed him lightly as my answer. Our moment alone short lived when Kaiba started to speak up. We have a long talk about what happened.
Apparently when they went to rescue Marik, Joey and Kaiba had to come across their kidnappers. They never did actually find out what they were trying to do to him. Yami then told us they overheard them talking about their souls and how they weren't human, that they were created. I shudder at the thought of them succeeding in taking over their souls. Marik, who is now starting to recover, explains to us that they kept experimenting on them. At this, I curl into Yami as close as I can. Soon enough, the story of their rescue mission was finished.
Since it was starting to get late, every decided to go home and get some rest and such. Right now it's around 11 at night. "You want to go ahead and go to our room for the rest of the night?" I ask, pulling my head away from his chest just slightly. "Sure aibou." He smiles and lets me get up from his lap. I lead him into our room and climb onto the bed. I laid there and wait for him to come join me.
Yami- Guess who's back, back again, Yami's back, tell all your friends. Guess who's back, I'm back again!
Yami laughs.
Yami- It's good to be back.
Me- We're happy to have you back. Especially Yugi.
I smile and pat Yugi on the shoulder.
Yami- Alright Rose, you've had him long enough. Now it's my turn
I smile and roll my eyes at him.
Me- What are you talking about, I've mainly been comforting him while you were away.
I point out. Yugi smiles and nods his head.
Yami- Oh, well, nevermind then. I forgot to think about it like that.
Yami's cheeks start to flush. I start to snicker at him.
Yugi- Don't worry Yami, she took good care of me.
Now it was my turn to blush.
Me- Awe, thanks Yugi. You're welcome.
Yami- Well my lovely readers, we should probably get going so that Rose can work on the next chapter.
Me- Don't forget to comment and vote.
Yami- Me and my sexyness has left the building, but not for too long of course.
Yami winks. I roll my eyes at him with a laugh.
Yami- Awe come one Rose. I just got back and you're already on me.
My mind takes his comment to the dark side momentarily and my cheeks start to flush.
Me- I'll deal with you later.
Yami- Of course you will.
Me- Shut up
Yami laughs
Yami- Don't worry, I'm just kidding.
Yugi just innocently stares at us and shakes his head.
