Toni's Point of View
cherry-bomb: I'm done for. I've been exposed.
Sent 12:50pmWhat the hell? What is she talking about? Exposed?.. How?
I added Cherry a while ago, since she was a friend of Jughead's on snapchat. I wouldn't tell her my real name, as I wanted to stay anonymous, and she didn't tell me hers. I went with the nickname 'Gemma', as it means gem in Portuguese. I thought it made sense, as my last name is Topaz, as in the gemstone.southsidetopaz: Huh? What's that supposed to mean?
Sent 12:52pmWe weren't supposed to have our phones out in class, but Cherry is way more important than Math.
southsidetopaz: Cherry?
Sent 12:53pmI put my phone down for a minute, and picked up my pen. The teacher had written a load of algebra crap on the board, and I copied it all into my notebook. I looked back down at the paper, and realised how sloppy my writing was, and that I wasn't even writing the right equations.
I was too focused on Cherry.southsidetopaz: Hello? What are you talking about? What do you mean you've been exposed?
Sent 12:55pmFangs leaned over and tapped me on the shoulder.
"Toni, what are you doing? I've never seen you text so quickly." He laughed, softly.
"Oh, um.. It's my uncle. He's getting mad at me because I mixed my red shirt with his white socks." I said. I mean, it wasn't a total lie. Yesterday, I mixed up the washing and he got really mad. Like, vein-popping mad. I swear, there was steam coming out of his ears.
"Topaz. Fogarty. Is there something more important than algebraic expressions?" The teacher demanded.
"Yes." I muttered to myself.
"No." Fangs said, confidently.southsidetopaz: Cherry? Text me back!
Sent 12:57pmI typed, and slipped my phone back into my pocket, making sure it was on vibrate.
Maybe she just turned her phone off. Calm down, Toni.
I couldn't focus for the rest of the lesson. I just copied all the textbook answers from Fangs.southsidetopaz: Okay, Cherry. Tell me what's wrong. Why haven't you texted me back in an hour? I NEED ANSWERS!
Sent 2:02pmI sat in The Red And Black, with Jughead, watching him type up an article on the Ghoulies. He's going to get kicked out of this the second he publishes the article.
"Toni, what's bugging you? You've been tapping your foot on the floor for the past hour. Which, by the way, you only do when you're anxious.
"Oh. Uh, it's just stuff at home." I lie.
"You know you can tell me, Toni." He says, reassuringly. He gazes into my eyes, hoping I'll tell him.
"No, no, no, it's fine. Don't worry about it." I say.
"You can come stay at my trailer, if you like. To get away from it all." He offers.
"Yeah. And I'm sure Cooper won't mind that at all." I say sarcastically. He sighs.
"She'll get over it." He insists. What if he likes me? Wait til he finds out I'm gay.southsidetopaz: C'mon, Cherry. Text. Me. Back.
Sent 2:06pmsouthsidetopaz: If you don't text me back, I'll spam you. Answer me!
Okay, no, I won't spam you. That'll just annoy you, and then you definitely won't text me back.
Cherry, please text me back. I don't know what's up, but I want to know what's going on. How have you been exposed? ANSWER ME CHERRY

Read 2:08pmsouthsidetopaz: Okay, so you've read my messages. Please reply, Cherry. Talk to me.
Sent 2:09pmcherry-bomb: Oh, sorry, Gemma. Had my phone switched off.
Sent 2:09pmcherry-bomb: Are you out yet? To your friends?
Sent 2:09pmsouthsidetopaz: Most of them, yeah. Why?
Sent 2:09pmcherry-bomb: I wasn't. But my "friend" decided to snatch my phone and read our texts when I wouldn't tell her "the guy who's making me happy".
Sent 2:09pmsouthsidetopaz: Oh my God. I am so sorry. That sounds awful, I wish I knew who it was, so I could beat them up. You don't deserve that.
Sent 2:10pmcherry-bomb: That's sweet <3
Sent 2:10pmI kind of want to know who Cherry is. But I kind of don't. It's hard to explain. I feel like it would kind of ruin what we have, but I also feel like it would be the best thing in the world. But I don't want to meet her yet. Not now.
