Evan's mother entered the room with a worried expression on her face.

"Evan!!! I got so worried when I saw you wasn't at home a-and I-" She was interrupted by Evan.

"Mom... I'm so sorry... I was just climbing a tree a-and I fell..."

Her mother started crying.

"You don't need to apologize. J-Just... promise me you are not going to climb trees again, okay?"

Evan nodded.

"Now let's go home!" She said.

The nurse came in and asked to talk to Evan's mother.

"Umm... Mrs. Hansen, may I speak with you for a moment?"

"Sure!"

She started walking to the door, but turned around to talk to Evan.

"I will be here soon sweetie! We can go home right after this conversation!"

Evan nodded.

Heidi and the nurse left the room, leaving Evan alone.

While alone, he started thinking about everything that happened. The fact that at least, he mattered for his mother.

His sadness was a little smaller right now, and the sensation of feeling good with himself was great!

Evan regretted so much his suicide attempt, and promised to himself that he would never do this again. Never!

He saw how worried his mother was about him, and he just didn't want to make his mother feel like that again.

After crying a little, he wiped his tears and started thinking again.

Suddenly, his thoughts were all about Connor, and how nice he was to bring him to the hospital.

He was thinking about how Connor smiled at him, how kind of worried he looked when
Evan was finally awake and the he smiled...

Connor just seemed so nice.

"I guess I should probably talk to him at school and thank him..."

He smiled at the thought of talking with Connor.

When he realized what he was doing, his face got deep red.

"Why am I thinking about him?! He just brought me to the hospital! His attitude was just what everyone would do..." Evan thought.

He was trying so hard, but couldn't stop thinking about Connor.

"What the hell is happening to me?! I don't want to think about him, but I just can't help but think! Ughh!"

Evan covered his face with both of his hands and tried even harder to stop.

Meanwhile, the nurse was guiding Heidi to a doctor's office.

The two entered the office and there was just a man sited.

He seemed a little intimidating.

"Hello Mrs. Hansen. I'm doctor Sherman. We need to talk about Evan..."

Suddenly, Heidi's smile disappeared.

"A-About Evan?"

The doctor was so serious. It seemed something really serious.

"Yes. As you probably know, Evan has a serious anxiety problem".

"I know... and what about it?"

"I know he already is having some therapy sessions, but I think he will need a few more. When we tried to talk to him for the first time, he panicked and fainted. We tried to talk to him several times but he fainted in all of them. He just stoped being nervous when we left just his friend inside the room."

When Heidi heard the word "friend", her eyes got wide open.

"Friend? What friend?"

"So umm... You don't know a boy named Connor Murphy? He said he was Evan's classmate and friend."

"Actually I... I know Connor, but I never thought he was Evan's friend."

"Oh..." He took a deep breath "But returning to Evan's anxiety, he will need therapy sessions thrice a week and keep with whatever else he is doing to help his anxiety."

Heidi sighed.

"Okay... I will talk to him about this when we get home. Thank you a lot doctor Sherman."

The doctor didn't say anything else.

Heidi left the office and went back to Evan.

"Ready to go home?" She asked.

Evan nodded.

Heidi just had to sign some documents and they could leave.

(I don't want to write about the car ride so let's just skip to when they got home :/)

----
Evan and his mom entered the house.

Heidi went work again and Evan just went to his room.

"When u come back from job we need to talk, ok Ev?" She said.

"Sure mom!" Evan answered.

He went upstairs, entered his bedroom and locked the door.

Evan was laying on his bed, still not able to stop thinking about what happened. Now, he wasn't thinking about the fact that he tried to kill himself, he was thinking about Connor.

His face got red again. He didn't know why this boy was fascinating him so much.

He had to talk to him. That's what his heart said was the right thing to do.

He was lost in thoughts again.

Then, the doorbell rang.

Evan went downstairs, nervous for talking with whoever was outside.

He opened the door and there was a man with flowers on his hands.

"Hello sir! I have some flowers to... Evan Hansen."

Evan froze.

"I-I'm Evan Hansen."

He gave Evan the flowers and before the man could leave, the boy asked "W-Who sent t-the flowers?"

The man thought for a little.

"It's from a boy named Connor Murphy, sir"

Evan blushed like crazy and just said a quick "thank you. Bye" before rushing to his room.

He gave a good look at the flowers. It was a pretty bouquet of sunflowers and a little paper in it.

Evan took the paper and opened it. It was a letter from Connor!

This made him squee before he started reading.

Evan,

I hope your arm gets well soon. I hope you liked the bouquet too. I though you would like it because you like nature and stuff like that... If you want, we can maybe be friends. I will understand if you don't want. Anyway, get well soon.

Sincerely, Connor Murphy.

Evan smiled when he ended reading the letter.

"A friend... I finally have a friend!" He thought.
