Keeping Him Prideful (An Add x Reader Story)

Wolf-chan here with another chapter! This is where the beginning of the end begins! If that makes any sense....yeah nevermind...

        "Add I don't think this is a good idea," (y/n) said to Add. Before the two of them had gotten too far, they'd run into Lu and Ciel who were glad to give away the secret underground hideout that Wally now resided in. Add asked Lu to watch Shadow and to let the El Search Party know that he and (y/n) would handle him. And that was it.

        He and (y/n) entered the hidden place and were now hovering as close as they could to the ceiling. (Y/n)'s cloaking device was in use to keep them from being able to be detected by nasods or any sort of security measure.

        "I'm telling you, this has got to be a trap. I bet Wally expected us to show up and this whole thing is a trap!" (y/n) said as she looked at Add.

        "Okay then. That leaves us with three possibilities. One, we think Wally has a trap and we go on anyway. Two, we know Wally has a trap and we go on anyway. Three, Wally is the trap and we go on anyway," Add said.

        "None of what you just said made any sense!" (y/n) said in frustration.

        "Well none of what you said makes sense either so now we're back at the beginning," Add said. He clearly didn't know what he was talking about. Before (y/n) could say anything though Add stopped her by putting his hand over her mouth. "Shh," he hissed at her. She glared at him but did nothing more than that.

      Just below them, one of Wally's created nasods walked by. (Y/n)'s cloaking device was able to keep them out of sight but it couldn't hide their voices. Luckily, their conversation had been nothing but intense whispering. The nasod passed by them without noticing their presence at all.

      Once the nasod had gone by, Add allowed (y/n) to speak again. "We should probably keep going until we find something useful," she said.

        "Or we could follow that nasod. I remember helping Wally with that one's design. It might lead us right to him," Add said. (Y/n) nodded in agreement and the two of them went after the nasod from earlier. They had followed it for a while, passing other nasods as they went, but then the one they were following suddenly stopped. In fact, all of the nasods in the area stopped.

        "Please don't look up here. Please don't look at us," (y/n) thought as she and Add froze as well. They all slowly turned their heads at them, eyes flashing red if they hadn't been already.

        "Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert! Standing by to receive orders," the nasod that was being followed said.

        "Down," Add ordered while the nasods were still standing by. (Y/n) didn't hesitate to switch her dynamos from flight mode to attack mode. They immediately fell down to the ground but landed soundlessly and unharmed. Add did the same and the two of them had their backs facing each other.

        "Orders received. Implementing attack plan," the nasod from earlier said. As soon as the nasod finished speaking, the nasods around them immediately attacked. They all ranged in sizes, and they were all pretty hard to kill. (Y/n) and Add's attacks were dealing lethal damage although it didn't seem like it.

        "Did your cloaking device break or something?!" Add asked as they fought.

        "No, it didn't! I think it was disabled somehow," (y/n) replied as she used her energy surrounded hand to decapitate a small nasod that had gotten too close.

        "More of them keep showing up. It's starting to get a little annoying," Add said as he used one of his skills to wipe out all of the nasods standing in front of him. The nasod that they'd previously been following was simply watching them rather than attacking.

        "I bet Wally is watching us with that nasod. If I use a smoke bomb, it might provide us with enough of a diversion to take it out," (y/n) said.

        "It won't solve the other problem though. These nasods are coming from some where and taking that one out won't necessarily stop that," Add replied as the two still fought. They were holding their ground pretty well so far but they still had the desire to find Wally.

        "I'm going to use the smoke bomb anyway. It'll give us some cover. I'll be right right back."

        "(Y/n), don't!" Add said but it was too late. She had already armed three of them and scattered them around. It wasn't long before the whole area was covered by the smoke. (Y/n) used her dynamos to guide her to the nasod that was just standing around and observing them. When she got to it, the smoke still hadn't cleared, so she was able to start her attacks. None of the nasods could really see through the smoke since it was designed that way. Regular smoke was a different story, but this was no regular smoke.

        (Y/n) went strait for what she believed to be the nasod's core and took the nasod down with ease. Just to be sure it was down for the count, she attacked any other possible places that could have been the core instead. The smoke had started to clear by the time she finished her attack. As she looked around, she saw that there were no more operational nasods around. Add had completely vanquished them all. When he spotted her, relief filled his gaze and he went to her. "I told you not to do that," he said.

        "Well it didn't do any harm did it? We got all the nasods taken out so let's go," she said. Add nodded but before they could get going, a voice was heard from somewhere.

        "You two have done well, but you won't do well enough. Why don't you continue on ahead and follow that nasod there and it will bring you right to me. I have a surprise waiting for you that I'm sure you'll not want to see," Wally's voice said from somewhere above them. Sure enough, there was a lone nasod standing at the far end of the room in the direction that (y/n) and Add intended to go.

        "Told you it was a trap," (y/n) muttered as Add glanced at her.

        "Might as well go along with it. The sooner we find him, the sooner we can solve this problem of ours," Add said with a shrug. Despite his nonchalant attitude, (y/n) could tell that Add was anxious and uneasy. He was good at hiding it at times, but (y/n) knew by now how to tell if he was hiding his feelings. She followed him as they both went after the nasod. It led them through the spacey corridors and eventually stopped at a large door.

        "This is the first of your two tests. You must defeat my nasod and then the second test will be revealed," Wally said. Out of instinct, (y/n) used her dynamos to quickly attack the nasod that had been guiding them. Since it was no taller than she was, it went down with ease. "Oh no. Not that one. I want you to fight...this one," Wally's voice said. The door creaked open forcing (y/n) and Add to step back. A large nasod that was far taller than them stepped out. It was rather bulky and its outer shell seemed impenetrable.

        "Add...did you help Wally with this design by any chance?" (y/n) asked as they both continued to step back.

        "If I say no, will you get mad at me?" Add asked. The nasod didn't leave any more time for conversation. It suddenly stopped, even though it had been moving slowly to begin with, and rapidly fired several missiles all at once.

I am so sorry about the late update. I've been running behind and I have other stories that I haven't updated and I also have my drafts that distract me a lot. But those aren't excuses. Until next time you epic readers!
