Keeping Him Prideful (An Add x Reader Story)

Okay so I was looking at one of my previous chapters for reference and I was like "darn it...I got some spelling errors to fix". Well, you see, I'm kind of lazy so I'll go back over all the chapters once I finish the book.

        Her adoptive father really made her angry, but she didn't let that get in her way. (Y/n) rushed over to Apple without even giving in to the strong urge she had to punch him in the face. She had to resist even more when he attacked Add. Instead, she went over to Apple and examined her to determine how to free her, but first she had to wake her up.

        "Apple! I'm here to save you. Wake up!" (y/n) spoke. If only it were that simple. Apple didn't respond to her calls.

        (Y/n) didn't have time for this. She used her dynamos to slightly shock Apple awake. The princess woke up in a startled panic. "Uh sorry about that, Apple. You didn't wake up when I called your name, so I kind of had no choice," (y/n) said.

        "Who are you?" Apple asked, almost oblivious to the fact that she'd been quite literally shocked awake.

        "I'm (y/n). I'm trying to free you," (y/n) said as she summoned her dagger from its tattoo so that she could cut Apple's restraints.

        "I've heard of you before. Well your name at least. Do you know anyone by the name of Add by any chance?" Apple asked as (y/n) worked.

        "Yeah, he's here too. Why you ask?" (y/n) replied.

        Apple laughed at her a little. "He told me not to ever tell you if we were to ever meet, but he really likes you. When he was trapped here in the Altera Core, I overhead him saying some things. He hadn't known that I was there until I made my presence known," Apple said. (Y/n) was cutting away at the last restraint.

        "Oh really? What did he say?" (y/n) asked, curious of what Add was thinking while being stuck in Altera Core.

        "You'll have to ask him. I wasn't even supposed to tell you that any of that happened," Apple said. Of course she wouldn't say. (Y/n) expected that to happen.

        "There, all freed up and ready to go." (Y/n) held a hand out to Apple to help her stand up.

        "Thank you. I will repay you for your actions once we figure out how to diffuse this bomb. While I was in my sleep-like state, I sent Eve a distress signal. She should have already sent word to this city's leader. Everyone should already be evacuated by now," Apple said.

        "Bomb? There's a bomb?" (y/n) muttered in disbelief.

        "Yes, there is. The lunatic that took me captive plans to destroy the whole city. I was just used as bait to lure you here. While I am glad that you have saved me, I also worry for your safety," Apple explained.

        "This is bad. I've got to tell Add," (y/n) said. She turned around only to find Q-Proto coming up to her and Apple.

        "Apple, I must get you out of here. There is a bomb attached to the core. It will be devastating and I doubt your own core will be able to withstand it," Q-Proto informed.

        "Does Add know?!" (y/n) asked Q-Proto.

        "Yes, he does. We should get you all out immediately," she said. Just as Q-Proto finished speaking, an explosion went off in the direction that Add was in. It startled (y/n) so she instinctively called out Add's name. She ran towards him when she saw that he was alright. As they went to him, the core of Altera transformed into a timer of some sort.

        "Apple, you and Q-Proto get out of here and immediately evacuate the city. I'm going to try stalling for as much time as I can on that bomb. (Y/n), I'm going to need your help," Add said when they were all close enough to hear him.

        "I wish you luck," Apple said before she and Q-Proto left. Add took (y/n)'s hand and they both ran over to the core.

        "There's got to be some sort of way to shut this thing down," (y/n) said as she searched for an access pannel.

         "It's supposed to be unstoppable. The best thing we can do is stall for time so the city can be evacuated as much as possible," Add said as he found the access pannel and began to attack it with his dynamos to get it open.

        "The city is already evacuated. Apple sent a message to Eve who sent a mesaage to Alera's leader. No one is going to get hurt except us. We won't be able to clear an explosion on this large of a scale in only nine minutes and counting," (y/n) said. Add got the pannel open and (y/n) quickly placed her hand onto the circuts, using her nanites to connect to the core.

        "I know...that's why we need to stop this explosion or at least get enough time for us to get out of here." Holographic computers started appearing and Add wasted no time in looking through the data that they displayed. (Y/n) kept her hands in place while he worked or else the holograms would disappear. Two more minutes had passed already.

        "Add did you figure anything out?" (y/n) asked. She was starting to panic.

        "I need you to calculate something for me," Add said, not answering her question. "How much damage would the bomb do if the explosion were to somehow be contained to only the core's chamber?" It took (y/n) mere seconds to come up with the possible outcome.

        "The explosion would only take out the chamber but cause anything above it to collapse to the inside and be destroyed underground by the explosion's after math. What do you plan on doing?" (y/n) asked, sensing an option that she wouldn't like.

        "I don't know but I have to try something," Add replied. Just then, Q-Proto appeared.

        "The city has been evacuated. Apple did a life forms scan. Only you two are left. I can take one of you out in time enough to get a good distance away from the explosion sight, but I cannot guarantee that whoever I take will live," Q-Proto said. Five minutes and counting left on the timer.

        "(Y/n), we can't do this. There's nothing we can do," Add said in frustration and defeat.

        "There's got to me something though right? Something that can save us?" (y/n) said. Add gave ger a solemn look. Then he hugged her and kissed her cheek.

        "I hope you can forgive me for this," he whispered. (Y/n) didn't even have time to ask what he meant. "Q-Proto, take her as far away from here as you can get her," Add said as he took (y/n) and pushed her to Q-Proto who nodded.

        "Add, no! Don't you dare!" (y/n) angrily shouted. She couldn't do anything. Q-Proto had her in a firm grip and picked her up, leaving Add behind. (Y/n) did not stop fighting Q-Proto, not even for one second, but she couldn't escape.
