CHAPTER 8

SHAY'S POV

"So where are you meeting him?" I asked while he adjusted his hair "There is a party hosted by one of our associates" I looked at him tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, I placed my hand on his shoulders and gave him a small smile "Don't worry it's going to be fine".

"Why don't you look around by the time I come back, just stay in sight" I nodded as he left, I look around the place what looked like an estate 'I hope they don't catch me for trespassing' I walked around the place, until I saw a man's back faced towards me.

"Remington told you and you came?" He gave out a chuckle "I ...." the man cut Zach off "Isn't this what you want? coming to these parties, take over the business?" This man must be his brother. I thought walking away would be right but I couldn't bring myself to do it "I missed you William" Zach moved towards his brother in an attempt to hug him who in return just swatted his hands away.

"Go! before I leave this place" Zach's eyes widened at this, he instantly shook his head "Don't do that! you are the only reason I came here!" he took a step back "I'll leave" suddenly his eyes met mine, I felt myself making my way back to the car.

"How much?" he asked as we were on our way back "Not much really, I just heard the part from when he told he'll leave" he tightened his grasp on the steering wheel "Why don't we forget about this?" he slightly relaxed realising I am not going to push the topic "So, what do we do?".

We drove through the streets when suddenly a truck came blaring it's horn at us, Zach quickly turned his steering wheel and went right into wet mud and bumped into a big rock. "Shit! what do we do know?" I asked him "Oh lets go and have ice cream" I furrowed my eyebrows "What?" he sighed "Try pushing it off" I glared at him "How can I?" he got off the car and went in front "Start the car when I start pushing it" I switched my seats and tried starting it but in vain.

"I called up for someone they said they'll collect the car by tomorrow" I looked around the place "It's not safe for us to roam the streets, let's go walking and find for a place for us to rest" I replied with a simple 'Ok' we went walking for almost an hour when we came across a motel.

"Can we get two rooms for one night please" Zach asked removing his wallet "Only one room is available" the man replied with a gruff voice. He turned towards me to ask my permission "Is there no other motel close by?" the man shook his head "I guess we're staying here".

"Here, change into these" Zach threw a t-shirt towards me "There's a restaurant down, let's go have something later" he started removing his shirt off "What are you doing?" I immediately turned the other way. I stood there till he was done "I'm done" with that I heard the door shut.

"I should have seen it!" I sighed "I heard that!" Zach yelled from the other side of the door.I quickly changed into the t-shirt and went to the restaurant."Is this fine?" he asked as he passed a slice of pizza to me "Ya, are you ok with it?" he nodded.

"So how is it back at home for you?" he asked but instantly regretted asking me that as he saw my smile falter "It's lonely?" I answered "So have you dated anyone?" he smiled at me "I have, but never been able to connect this well to anyone else" I smiled "I never had a boyfriend" I frowned at the thought.Zach slowly moved towards me and placed his lips on mine "Now you do" I smiled at him.

"You take the bed and I'll take the couch" he took a pillow and placed it on the couch. He fell asleep immediately.

"There's a bus which goes to the city at noon" We continued to eat our breakfast "Do you have anything to see here?" I thought for a second "Fish and chips by the beach!" He looked puzzled for a moment "You mean you want to eat fish and fries?" I nodded "Don't you get those in london?" he looked amused "We do but I want to have it in sydney" he laughed at my reply .

We took the bus to the sydney at noon "There's this place, where you get amazing fish and fries let's go there on wednesday" I nodded and took my phone out and put my earphones on, he slowly took one and put it on his ears, I leaned on his shoulders and drifted off to sleep.

"Let's order a take in for today" Zach muttered as he opened the door, both of us just collapsed on the couch and he ordered a pizza "Ugh... I have school tomorrow" he groaned, I slowly patted his shoulder "You have my sympathy" he glared at me.

RACHEL'S POV:

"Yes, I spoke to him"I groaned as mom kept whining about how Zach should have picked me up at the airport "He kept apologising and is making it up with dinner tonight" I replied curtly "I will tell him you asked about him, I have to get ready bye" I cut the call and started unpacking my clothes.

"You should at least pick my calls" I looked at his picture, I had secretly taken it the last time I visited him. My phone started ringing "Hello?" I heard a guy chuckle "I heard my sister is in Australia to visit her fiance?" I groaned realising who it is "Nathan what do you want?" he sure knows how to get on my nerves "Give my greetings will you and ask him how his mother is?" I didn't bother replying and cut the call.

"Zach? why didn't you pick up?" I was glad when he finally picked "I was busy" he answered flatly "How are you?" I asked "I'm fine, is that why you called? I have to go" with that he cut my call.

I'll text him tomorrow when I go to his place. I picked out an nice floral dress and kept it aside and checked on the restaurant reservation I made to celebrate our anniversary.

SHAY'S POV:

"So what time will you be back?" I asked Zach as he munched on his cereal "By 2?" he replied "Oh Officer called telling me to come collect your passport, will be fine by your own?" I nodded and poured some milk to a glass and drank it.He came towards me and gave a little peck on my forehead and left.

"There must have been a mistake, I apologise" the officer gave me my passport "Thank you" I took my passport from him and hailed a cab back home.

I noticed the door to be open, I made my way down "How come your early Zach?" I reached down to see a girl arranging flowers on the table, she suddenly turned around and glared at me. She was gorgeous, tall creamy skin. Her appearance made her look rich, with a designer floral dress she stood tall with brown wavy hair.

"Who are you?" she asked me while looking at me with distaste "Who are you?" I asked back, she smirked at my question "I am the fiance of the owner of this house".
