[AVOID] The Next Selection ?

It's been a week since I sent my form back to the palace, and today they are going to show the thirty five chosen girls on The Illea Report. "Come on Alex it's going to start any second now." My mum calls from downstairs. I sigh and slowly make my way downstairs and collapse into one of the lounge chairs. "Welcome Ladies and gentlemen of Illea, to the Illea report. Today we are going to get the first glimpse of the 35 selected girls that will be competing to try to win the heart of our beloved Prince Drew." Gavril Fadaye, the host of the report said joyfully. I've heard that he's been the royal reporter since the last selection.

I'm not going to get chosen.

All the other girls in the line were stunning and beautiful.

I have no chance whatsoever.

"Okay now what you have all been waiting for- The selected."

A huge box appears on the screen and it shows a picture of the girl, their name and caste and a small box which shows the Prince's reaction.

1st is Lily Dean- Caste 4

Woah Lily got chosen!!!

My best friend got chosen.

I didn't get to see the Prince's reaction but she really is a pretty girl.

2nd is Haylie Waters- Caste 2

3rd is Gina Brown- Caste 3

4th is Leah Gale- Caste 4

5th is Grace Cho- Caste 2

6th is Jane Frai- Caste 5

7th is Esther Mackay- Caste 6

8th is Taylor Sean- Caste 2

9th is Diane Cole- Caste 4

10th is Leela Guler- Caste 3

11th is Sophia Sarwary- Caste 3

12th is Fiona Doug- Caste 6

13th is Pandora Eaton- Caste 2

14th is Monica Lach- Caste 4

15th is Mariam Tay- Caste 5

16th is Kathy Doan- Caste 3

17th is Kleo Banks- Caste 2

18th is Kat Frost- Caste 3

19th is Jessie Hamper- Caste 5

20th is Rayanne Wilson- Caste 2

30th is Ashley Pearson- Caste 7

31st is Tiana Flint- Caste 6

32nd is Zahra Snow- Caste 5

33rd is Mickaylla Crow- Caste 3

34th is Bella Thompson- Caste 5

And last but not least.....

Alexis Mason- Caste 5

What did I just get chosen?

The room erupts in cheers and happiness.

I get a quick Glimpse at the Prince's reaction. He looks happy and interested and after that they show the whole of the royal family. Princess Kiara looks happy and is literally jumping in her seat.

Queen America looks pleased and King Maxon looks the same.

I'm still shocked but my whole family are reacting like the Princess except they are squealing and are celebrating.

The next day, a palace official comes to my house and explains the rules.

They are all pretty basic- Don't sabotage another girl's chances

Don't reject the Prince's affection

Don't have another affair

And some other basic and obvious rules.

My mind is still on the rule- Don't reject the Prince's affection.

What if that means physical affection. I shake the thought out of my head. The Prince would never like me enough for that.

Two days later and it's time for me to leave for the palace. I am taken in a car to the town hall and am congratulated for being chosen. A Daisy is placed in my hair and then I am taken to the airport. At least Lily will be with me. I just hope she doesn't become really cold and competitive towards me. 

When I reach the airport Lily is there with 2 other beautiful girls. Lily runs towards me with a huge smile on her face, opening her arms. I do the same and we engulf each other in a huge hug. "Congratulations Lily, I knew you would get in." I say. "Thanks Lexi but really, I was positive you were going to get chosen and the Prince's reaction, he seemed happy." I raise an eyebrow at her with a quizzical look on my face. "What do you mean?" "He was beaming when they showed your picture. And it looked as if he was expecting it when they got to the last one." 

Once we boarded onto the plane the other 2 girls who I soon recocgnised as Iris Taylor and Pandora Eaton were sitting with us and were talking as if we all already knew each other. We all soon became friends and linked arms as we got out of the plane and towards the large crowd waiting outside. Many people were cheering out our names but mainly Iris and Pandora. When I heard someone scream Alexis I quickly slashed my head to the owner of the scream. It was a little girl. I released my arm from Lily and walked towards her. I kneeled so I was now eye level with her. "Hi." I said putting on a smile. Her face immediately lit up and she replied, "Hi Alexis my name is Tara and you are my favourite out of all of the girls. Your very pretty and I hope you win" "Thank you Tara, you are also very pretty, I like your hair." She also has red hair but her's is a little lighter. "Bye Tara but I have to go now." "Bye Alexis, good luck." I wave then walk back towards the other girls who are waiting by the car.

About half an hour later the huge golden gates of the palace come into view. I take a deep breath and exit the car. Our mentor, Sienna guides all 35 of us to the palace doors. 2 guards open the doors and we all take our first step in the palace. The competition has begun.
