[AVOID] The Next Selection ?

~Chapter 7~

~Alexis POV~

The queen and I walk around aimlessly for about 5 minutes until she halts and turns to me. "What happened between you and Drew?" 

Wait, how does she know?

"He hurt me." " I can tell somethings wrong. He has been upset. Just talk to him." I nod and she turns and walks back to the palace.

I decide to stay a little longer and wander around. I come to a rose garden and walk to it. I go under a small arch that resembles an entr and sit in the little patio in the middle. I hear footsteps behind me an dI tense. 

I slowly turn my head around and see Kiara there. "Oh Hi Kiara." "Hi Alexis." She sits next to me and relaxes. I see her eyes getting glassy. "Are you okay Kiara? Just because I was crying yesterday doesn't mean you cry as well." She laughs then sighs. "This garden and patio was made last year in memory of my grandmother." 

Oh.

"I'm sorry If i knew I wouldn't have talked so heartlessly" 'No no its okay its just that we were really close. She used to tell me about my parents selection." 

"Can I just say that your mum looks really young. She doesn't even have a little line or wrinkle on her face." Kiara laughs. "She had Drew a year after her selection and me 3 years after that."

"She's so pretty." I gush at the rememberance of how perfect the Queen's face was. "Look who's talking. i'm sure when you're at school you have all the guys swooning over you." 

Funny since hazel said the same thing.

"Why do people keep saying that.' I mumble annoyed. " Hmmm probably coz it's true." I glare at her then regret it remembering that she is the Princess. It's getting dark let's go to the lake the sunset view is like its been taken out of a picture." I freeze and then reluctantly follow her. 

We take a seat on the same bench and stare at the picturesque view. Then all of a sudden there is a bright flash.

We both turn and I see the King himself standing there.

I stand and curtsy, "No you don't have to." I nod and turn back to see Kiara glaring at her father. "Why do you always take photos?" "You already know that I enjoy photography."

Oh wow really?

He looks at me then smiles, "You remind me so much of the queen." I smile at him. "Thank you your majesty." 'I'm just curious but aren't you supposed to be in the position with Drew and not Kiara?"

"She decided to let other girls enjoy his company." Kiara answers. i stare at her quizzically. Was that the best she could come up with?

"Ah, yes, musn't let other girls be jealous." He laughs then walks away.

That was awkward.

~Back in the palace~

I heads to my room with Kiara and see Iris standing by my door. we all go in and we barely got to sit on my bed when there's a knock on the door. Iris goes to open it and she curtsies.

She opens the door wider to let them in and then I freeze. "lady Alexis may I ask why you didn't come by my room yesterday? 

I have a feeling this isn't going to go well.

(A.N): Sorry for the chapter but I wanted to update something quickly. I shall try to do a longer chapter tomorrow.
