"She's too weak, she'll never be a good fighter." Brian was in the middle of whispering. Lucas let out a low growl and glared at Brian, his eyes quickly flicking to me. Brian glanced over his shoulder at us and he quickly put on a smile to cover up his surprised expression. It was easy to tell what they were talking about, so I didn't need to hear the whole conversation. Brian was right, though, I was weak. I was the runt not just of my family but of the pack. Being the runt made me weak and there was nothing I could do about it. I was just intelligent; I was lacking everything when it came to being physical. I already knew all of this, but it still hurt to know Brian didn't believe in me. It hurt knowing I would never be strong and I would always be referred to as the weak one. It really did hurt, but there was nothing I could do about it and I didn't want anyone to know that it stung. So instead I sucked it up and put on a small smile, pretending I didn't hear a word of their conversation.
"Hey, Brian." I said quietly. He shot me a smile back, but I could see the strain in it. He suspected I heard what he said about me, but I think we both realized it would be better if we didn't mention it.
"Is my little sister ready to start training?" Lucas asked, pulling me into his side.
"Let's get this started." I said weakly while lamely doing jazz hands. Lucas and Tobin chuckled and we broke off to start training. Brian showed me some basic human defense moves, but I practiced them out on Lucas. I was horrible at first but with many tries I eventually managed to tap into my wolf strength. My strength was probably as strong as a regular wolf, but it kind of was difficult because I never used it. With practice, though, I'd soon be able to use it to my full potential. For now, I was stuck practicing defense moves until I managed to block myself from most of Lucas's painless blows. He'd never hurt me; everyone knew he was going extremely easy on me. If he was about to hit me, he would either soften his blow to where it was just a little bump or he would stop his blow completely. At times it frustrated me because I didn't want to have special treatment, but I knew he was doing it for himself too. Like I said before, he didn't want to hurt me and it would have killed him if he did. That's why we were both happy when my two hours of training finally came to an end.
"You're doing pretty good, Ally." Brian complimented me. I flashed him a grin before Lucas wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
"It's because she's related to me." Lucas joked, squeezing my shoulders together. I nodded and gave a small chuckle while tucked into his side. A low growl reached my ears and I automatically perked up at the sound. I glanced up at Lucas but he was talking to Brian as if he never heard it. Everyone kept doing what they were doing and paid no attention to the growl that was echoing around us. My eyes soon found their way to the woods and a pair of red eyes pierced into mine. A small gasp escaped my mouth at the sight of them, knowing who they belonged to. Brute was beyond angry and his wolf was in full control. With the power he had, he could easily swoop in here and kill everyone that was training outside. By the looks of it, that's exactly what he wanted to do, especially with his eyes trained on Lucas. It finally clicked in my head why he was mad when Lucas shrugged the shoulder that was still wrapped around me. Brute's wolf saw Lucas as a threat, regardless of the fact he was just my brother. Realizing that, I stepped out of my brother's embrace. The conversation stopped and Lucas looked down at me with confusion written all over his face.
"I, um, I'm exhausted from training and I think I need a nap." I stuttered out. He gave me a small nod and I was racing into the house a second later. I was hoping that if Brute didn't see me near them he wouldn't feel threaten. What I wasn't expecting was him to be in my room by the time I got there.

Surprisingly my brother believed me when I claimed to be sick. He was mad that I wouldn't let him come in, but my fake puking noises finally drove him away. I felt like I had to throw up anyway because of the bad feeling I had from Brute still being in my room. He wouldn't let me leave and wouldn't let anyone come in. I was almost a prisoner inside my own room because of him.
