(Y/N)'s POV :
It was morning. I could hear the birds sing peacefully and smell the fresh morning air. I opened my eyes only to find Aphmau next to my bed looking at me.
"HELLO (Y/N)!!!!" She screamed.
"AHHH!" I yelled scared and fell off my bed.
"APHMAU?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE AT THIS HOUR!" I asked, yelling.
"I am soooo so sorry (Y/N)! I just wanted to tell you that TODAY IS YOUR FIRST SHIFT FOR PATROL!" She said, screaming. I know it was exciting but she doesn't have to scream every word she says!
She told me where I was supposed to patrol today, and left.
I wore my armor, attached my sword to it, and went to the village walls.
Dante was already standing there with two kids. A girl with light blue hair and cat ears and a tail, and a boy with dark blue hair but didn't have any ears or tail.
"Hello Dante! Are these your kids?" I asked.
"Y-yes but-.." he was saying something but he got interrupted.
"Dmitri~Kun is my brother from another mother!" The little girl squeaked.
"Y-yes... I got Dmitri with a really good friend of mine, three months before getting Nekoette with Kawaii~Chan... But Kawaii~Chan and Nicole get along really well so.. heh.." Dante explained.
"Oh okay! Your kids are really cute though!" I said smiling.
Aphmau told me to climb up the ladder to get on top of the walls to get a better view of the village and the forest that was around it, so I did what she told me to do.
"Papa! We're going out!" Said Nekoette, walking out of the village gate with her brother. I didn't know if it was safe for two six year-old kids going out with no adult, so I kept watching them to make sure they were alright.
"Hey (Y/N)!" Said Dante.
I turned around to face him to hear what he wants to say.
"Keep watching the kids please. Kawaii~Chan needs me at home! Thanks again!" He said.
"I will!" I said watching him go away.
I turned around again to see where they were but they disappeared.
"Nekoette?! Dmitri?!" I yelled. I jumped from the wall and ran towards the forest to find them.
I heard a little girl scream so I held my sword and ran towards the sounds of screaming.
I saw two bandits carrying the kids away, so i ran and kicked them, hard enough to knock them out.
I carried Nekoette cause i couldn't carry them both, but luckily, Garroth had followed me and came to carry Dmitri.
We got the kids back to Kawaii~Chan and Dante's house.
"Oh my Irene (Y/N)~Chan, thank you so much for saving Nekoette~Tan and Dmitri~Kun! Kawaii~Chan can't thank you enough for that! Take that cake Kawaii~Chan made! Please! Kawaii~Chan doesn't know how else to thank you!" Kawaii~ Chan said, hugging Nekoette and Dmitri.
"Thank you guys so much for saving the kids! I shouldn't have let them go out..." Dante said, feeling guilty.
"They are safe now. And even if it was any kid I wouldn't think twice to save them. It's the least I can do for everyone welcoming me to this village." I said.
