With some convincing, Lucas finally left me alone to sleep once the sun started to set. I did get a few hours of sleep while we binged watched movies, but I got a couple more hours once he left. When I woke up it was around one o'clock in the morning, but I was wide awake. I closed my eyes once more before getting out of bed and heading towards my closet. I pulled out my backpack and dumped all my school stuff onto the floor quietly. I then started stuffing clothes, essentials, a couple books, and my money stash into the bag. The bag was heavy, but it was light enough for me to carry around without any problems.

'Lucas?' I whispered through the mind link. I waited a minute to see if he would reply, but it was quiet, telling me he was asleep. I cut off the mind link before heading downstairs, tip toeing so I wouldn't wake anyone up. I went to the fridge and grabbed a couple of waters. Tears started to form in my eyes because of what I was about to do, but I closed my eyes to prevent them from escaping. I sure hope I was doing the right thing.

Once I was sure I wasn't going to break down, I headed out the back door and into the night air. The night watch was on the other side of the territory by then so I glided across the grass and into the trees with no problems. I kept my footsteps light as I traveled through the woods, hoping to reach the border before the patrol caught me. If the patrol caught me they would inform Lucas and there was no doubt that he'd lock me in my room. I couldn't let him do that, I had to leave. Tobin was right, my mate was dangerous. It was only a matter of time before Brute lost control and killed more lives in my pack. Not only that, I couldn't let my pack find out that I was mates to the Alpha of Rogues. That would end badly for everyone so I had to stop it before it could start. I didn't know where I would go, but I would figure that out.

I finally came to the edge of our territory and I stopped, turning around to look at my territory one last time. I let out a sigh before stepping over the imaginary border, stepping into unmark territory. I did it, I was free.

"Is the little birdie finally stepping out of her nest?" A voice spoke up, causing me to nearly jump out of my skin. I looked in the direction where the voice came from to see Brute stepping out of the shadows.

"I-I'm running away." I whispered, looking away. I was suddenly ashamed and I felt like a little girl with him standing in front of me. He didn't cover up his scent or power and it truthfully intimidated me. I was the runt of the pack and he was probably the strongest wolf in the world. What brought the wolf spirits to pair us together?

"I can see that. I'm surprised you actually made it this far." He commented, eyeing the backpack I had. I pulled it closer to me under his intense gaze.

"Please just let me leave." I said. I kept my eyes trained on the ground, waiting for him to leave or say something. A moment of silence passed between us before he finally spoke up.

"Come on, you can come with me." He sighed. My head snapped up and I stared up at him with wide eyes.

"Really?" I asked, probably looking like a lost puppy.

"Yes, now come on before I change my mind." He growled out and spun around, quickly walking off. I took one last look at my territory before jogging to catch up with Brute. Due to my short legs, I had to basically jog the whole time to keep up with his long ones. I didn't know where he was taking me, he could of been taking me to the middle of nowhere to rape and kill me, but I still followed him. If he wanted to kill me I would have died the day his pack kidnapped me. He didn't want me dead, I was his mate after all. I hated that was the only reason I was alive right now, knowing everyone else wasn't as lucky. Yet I still couldn't hate him.

The trees finally started to thin out and when we stepped into the clearing, I recognized where we were right away. It was where the rogues stayed, and it scared me how close it was to my pack's territory. I didn't even know if I could call it my pack anymore...
