Jack and I were out late walking around town. He wanted to watch the sunset, so that's exactly what we did. We stopped at a nearby park and sat atop a hill, we had to wait a while to see it but he didn't care. He pulled me into his lap and wrapped his arms around me. His back was up against a tree and he rested his chin on my shoulder.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Jack said, as the sun started to set.
"Sure is"
I leaned my head against his and sighed, it was very peaceful at this hour. Kids were leaving with their parents and there were a few people sitting down at the park benches. You couldn't hear what they were talking about, which made it all the more peaceful. It felt as if it were just Jack and I, something I haven't felt in a while.
"Hey, Y/n?"
"Yeah?"
"I have a question"
"Ask away"
"What was regaining your memories like? It's just a bit confusing since one minute you knew nothing and the next you knew it all."
"It was like a movie, but I wasn't watching it from afar. When i passed out it was more like a dream than anything. It happened in a small amount of time too, which made it all flash before my eyes within an instant. I imagine it's weird for you though, seeing as you've been with me for so long, not knowing anything."
"Yeah, it is pretty weird, I'm not used to it yet"
I put my hand on top of his and watched the sun slowly disappear over the horizon. I felt his chest move up and down as his lungs filled and released air, everything was quiet once again. More and more people left and eventually we were the only ones there. We sat there without talking for a while more until stars started to pop up in the sky, he held me closer to him and rubbed my arms.
"We should probably go back, we've been out here for hours" Jack said. "Anti might be worried about you"
"Okay, we can head back now, only because it's getting late."
He removed his arms from around me and allowed me to stand up, when he stood up he took off his jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders.
"The nights are cold, I wouldn't want you to freeze."
"Thank you, you didn't have to though."
"I know, but I wanted to, there's a difference."
I smiled at him and intertwined our fingers as we started walking back home. It grew darker by the second and the street lights started to turn on as we neared our home.
"You know, we should've thought about eating before we went for a walk." Jack said.
"Yeah, you're right, but it's too late now. We can just order something or I can make something."
"Okay, but if you make something I'm totally helping."
"Okay (Smiles)"
We walked in the front door of our home as the smell of F/f wafted through the air. I looked at Jack and raised my eyebrow in confusion, he just shrugged. We entered the kitchen and saw Anti cooking and setting up the dining table for us. He poured drinks and made plates for all of us too, it was quite unexpected.
"Oh, hello, I didn't here you guys come in, please, take a seat." Anti said with a smile.
Jack and I did as we were told. I sat across from him as Anti made the last plate of food. He was wearing an apron which made me smile, what's gotten into him? He's being so nice, maybe he's trying to get brownie points, but I can't be mad when he's doing this for us. It's such a nice gesture, he's really trying to fix his wrong doings. Honestly, i think I'm more disappointed than mad at this point. Anti set our food in front of us, then he took a seat next to me. Our drinks were already on the table and i could see that Jack would occasionally look at Anti in suspicion. Jack wouldn't touch his food, he refused to.
"What's wrong?" Anti asked Jack.
"I don't trust that you didn't poison our food" He replied.
"Well, i don't think he did" I said, as I took a bite out of what he made.
"I know he wouldn't poison you but, what about me?"
"Jack, listen, you make Y/n happy, why would i kill you? Of course, i don't exactly like you, but you did create me, you get credit for that"
"Hm... Okay, I'll believe you"
"Thank you, you did say you'll try to trust me earlier too, keep your word for it."
"I will I will, I always keep my word."
We continued eating in silence. When I was done I was going to stand up and put my plate in the sink, but Anti beat me to it.
"Thank you..." I mumbled awkwardly "And thanks for the food too, I appreciate it."
"No problem" He said, as he winked at me.
Jack soon finished his food and anti took care of his plate for him too. Afterwards, Jack went upstairs to make a couple YouTube videos so I stayed in the kitchen to help Anti clean up. I walked over to the sink and started doing the dishes.
"Oh, you don't have to do that, I was going to do them" Anti said.
"Look, I know you want to be nice, but I'm living here too so I can help out."
"...Okay..."
I finished up the dishes as he leaned against the wall by the door awkwardly, still wearing the apron.
"(Laughs) You can take that off now" I said, pointing to the apron.
"Oh, yeah... Heheh..."
He topk it off and folded it up, placing it on the table after he did so. I leaned on a counter and looked at him, we made eye contact, but the awkwardness that hung in the air around us was very, VERY noticeable.
"So uhm, what now?" I asked.
"I uh, actually have a question to ask you."
"Okay"
"I honestly feel like I shouldn't be asking this, but I'm quite curious. So uh, do we... Do we still have like, a thing?"
He averted his eyes away from mine as he said this. I walked towards him and placed my hand on his cheek and forced him to look at me.
"Just 'cause I'm a little mad and disappointed doesn't mean my feelings for you have changed, they're still there, buried underneath all of my emotions."
"That's a relief..."
I smiled and brought my hand back down to my side, he's the same ol' Anti I fell in love with. It was weird seeing the nice side of Anti today even though I already knew he had a nice side, seeing as he didn't kill me ages ago. By the stories Jack's told me he's always been so cold hearted until now, i guess people really can change. Of course, Anti is still sneaky and deceiving but that's just apart of his demonic nature. Maybe I should stop holding something against him for what he did and get over it, it's about time I move on and look forward. People make mistakes, we live and we learn besides, he probably won't do that again.
"I'm sorry for being such a little bitch" I said, slightly laughing.
"What do you mean?"
"I was mad at you for months and I never even said a word to you, i think I had more than enough time to get over myself. I'll stop being mad at you so we can go back to how things used to be."
"Really!?"
"Yes, really"
"That's great! I mean, to me it's great..."
"(Laughs) It's nice to have you by my side again" I said, as I pulled him into a hug.
"Right back at ya"
