third person povIt was dark and cold, the moon was high in the sky with the stars twinkling all around it. A gust of wind blew past causing Scarlett to shiver and hold on tighter to the hand in hers.
"I want to go," Scarlett said looking up to the older boy. His blue eyes flickered to her and a small smile spread onto his lips.
"We'll go in a moment okay, Princess? Let's just wait a little longer," he replied and she simply nodded her head, not wanting to fight over it. They were waiting for his friends since they were all going to head to the bowling alley where they usually hung out after exams. "It's really cold out, huh?"
"Mhmm," Scarlett nodded as a small giggle left her lips. The boy suddenly let go of her hand and he shrugged off his leather jacket. She blushed as he turned to her and placed the jacket around her shoulders and placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Better," he asked, smiling down at her.
"Aren't you cold," she asked, not answering him.
"No," he shook his head. "Your smile keeps me warm so as long as I see it I'll be okay."
"You're so cheesy," she giggled and grabbed his hand again. The couple waited in a comfortable silence before hearing footsteps a good five minutes later. They both looked to see who was coming only to see a couple strangers who happened to be men. The two of them stepped out of the way, but the men stopped beside them with menacing looks.
"Look what we have here? Pretty girl, huh, Jax," the taller one said looking to Scarlett.
"She's definitely something, Dave," the other smirked, eyeing her. "You wanna come have fun with us?"
"N-"
"I suggest the two of you leave," her boyfriend answered, pushing Scarlett behind him.
"Or what, pretty boy? What are you going to do," the two men shoved him and Scarlett shrunk away, scared.
"I'll beat the shit out of you."
"Hunter, let's just g-go," Scarlett whispered to the boy but he didn't back down.
"Listen to your girlfriend, kid. Leave and we'll have fun with-" He didn't let Dave finish his sentence. He punched him straight in the nose, causing him to stagger back, clutching the middle of his face. "You're gonna pay for that, boy."

"Scarlett," Xukun said sitting in the passenger seat, she was staring at the road and silently driving. Her knuckles were white and her hands were shaking uncontrollably, Xukun and the other boys took notice of it quickly.
"Jiejie, pull over," Linkai said as tears formed her eyes. She let out a shaky breath and did as she was told, pulling off to the side of the road.
"I'll drive. Scarlett, switch seats with Linkai," Xukun said and the girl nodded, grabbing the handle of the car and opening the door. It didn't take long for them to switch, but when she got in the back, she couldn't hold back her tears.
"Come here," Ziyi muttered, scooting to her and wrapping an arm around her. Her sobs were muffled as she cried against him and the boys all frowned having never seen her this way.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," she kept repeating as they drove home. As they neared the house, her crying died down as she calmed down. She shuddered against Ziyi and he rubbed her back, silently letting her know he was there for her.
When they got to the house, Yanjun's car wasn't there.
"I-I'm sorry about your shirt," Scarlett apologized with a hiccup.
"It's okay. Just get to bed, okay," Ziyi smiled down at her. She nodded, with a weak smile before going into the house while the other boys stayed outside waiting for Yanjun and Zhangjing. The three of them leaned against the car, waiting. It didn't take long before he arrived with an unbelievably drunk Zhangjing.
"I got him," Linkai said helping the eldest out of the car. He slung the drunk's arm over his shoulder and wrapped an arm around his waist, helping to and into the house.
Yanjun got out of the car and slammed the door closed as he shoved his phone into his pocket. He tapped his fingers on the top of his car before turning and leaning against the vehicle. "Where is she?"
"In bed," Ziyi replied watching him. "You should leave her alone for tonight."
"I can't do that," Yanjun pushed off his car and tried to walk past them, but the two boys stepped in front of him.
"She was crying hysterically. She doesn't want to see you," Xukun said looking to her window that showed no sign of her being awake. "She seemed so happy with you until you hit that guy. Why'd you get into that fight, Yanjun?"
"He said things I didn't like. Now would the both of you move out of my way," Yanjun asked, irritated, but they didn't budge.
"You should've walked away."
"I don't need advice. What's done is done."
"Well think about what you do before doing it," Ziyi shoved him.
"Stop," Xukun said standing between the two of them before anything else could happen.
"He was talking about her, telling me what he would do to her. How do you expect me to react? That guy deserved what was coming to him," Yanjun said angrily.
"That didn't matter to her. She was worried sick about you, you dumbass. She doesn't care what anyone thinks about her, but you. She only cares about us, Justin, and you. You can't just throw yourself into a fight over what some drunk guy says. Why don't you think for a fucking second?"
"Ziyi, stop. Just-Just go to sleep. You'll talk to her tomorrow or whenever she's ready," Xukun sighed and grabbed Ziyi's arm, pulling him along with him.
Yanjun watched as the two went into the house and as soon as they shut the door, he let out a frustrated groan.
I fucked up.
