This book most definitely needs an introduction.

You'll see why in a few minutes, I'm sure.

The original concept for this is relatively simple, the idea coming from something @JosefineRenbo saw on Pintrest and suggested to me a long time ago. I decided to make it into a book for several reasons. First, I like the concept, two I like the ideas I can attach to it, and three -ideas sprouted out of my brain like strange plants when I first looked at it and thought about it.

As the description suggests, it's a story about someone who can tell truths from lies meeting a complete and utter liar. But I like to think there's more than that. In case you missed it, here is that description:

'Taehyung is a human lie detector, thanks to the efforts of a group of scientists who changed his genes before he was even born. It's made his life difficult, that's for sure, but things are about to get worse.

A lot worse.'

This could be the best plot and general story organisation on my account. If everything works as I've planned, it will be. And if it doesn't flop. I've put up the intro extremely early so that you guys are well aware of its existence, so when it begins to be properly updated you will know what it's about already. Kind of. And that way it's a lot less likely to flop.

It will start to be updated when Rhythm of My Heart has been completed in about five or so weeks. (As of late August 2018). It will be updated once a week instead of twice, for the simple reason of school and stuff. Hopefully this will be forgiven eventually.

But I have a strange amount of confidence in this one, despite the fact that some of you might not necessarily like it. I think that's the risk writers take when they publish something. It's not about whether everyone is gonna love it. It's about sharing art.

Or something.

I'm gonna be honest, I haven't painted a perfect picture of BTS in this book. This is no fairytale that lasts forever, no magical fantasy journey where love comes in mere moments. This is something much darker (even darker than Dark itself) and much more realistic. Much more hard hitting, too.

Every person in this book, with the exception of a few, matters. Every single member of BTS is important. Even if they don't necessarily have much of a role to begin with, they are introduced early on for a reason (you'll see what I mean as we progress I'm sure). There is a lot of focus on Taekook and on various other things for a long time and I need you to trust that the rest of BTS are involved. Eventually.

However, a book like this carries quite a few warnings. And I'm gonna say this now. It's not a happy-go-lucky book. So don't read it if you know it'll make you genuinely upset or if it'll cause your mental health to permanently shift in a negative direction. There is some real deep shit in here. So be careful and please don't say that I didn't give you ample opportunity to nope out.

I'm really selling this, aren't I?

But in all seriousness I don't want to hurt anyone with what I'm writing so please pay attention to my warnings. They are there to stop my work from being genuinely harmful. Yes, you will feel emotions hopefully but lasting negative effects are not intentional. I would never want any of you to suffer.

Now, onto teasers and stuff. The positives. This book (and later books as well) contains:

-Yoominseok.

-Namjin

-Top!kook and bottom!tae

-Tae actually has a family that's kinda interesting!

-Kook also has a family that's kinda complex as well!

-Original characters that have roles for once!

-Taekook exists (obviously) in this book eventually!

Please don't skip the next bit. It's extremely important. Even if this has taken a long time, and it's a long ass intro, please be patient and read this next bit. For your own benefit as well as my own.

These are the WARNINGS (in caps so nobody ignores them oops).

----------------------------WARNINGS---------------------------------------------------------

- mentions of alcoholism and the negative effects of it

- character death (no BTS deaths I can spoil that much now)

- homophobia and transphobia

- the questioning of one's identity

- details of wounds, healing and descriptions of deaths

-violence and threats

- gang (kind of) culture

- existentialism (in a way)

- the presentation of humanity as flawed

- panic attacks, self doubt, negative ideas (all that stuff)

- some extreme angst

- lies and truth being clearer than normal

- a trans character who does struggle a lot with their identity (we're talking dysphoria, self hate, the lot)

Like I said, this isn't a positive book. So if you're searching for something to bring up your spirits or you're feeling particularly low, save this for when you're a bit better. I do not want to be the cause of any suffering or anything. I doubt any of you would ignore those warnings or be that hurt, but I feel like I have to say it.

If I don't give any sort of warning, I will be at fault (legally and morally and in my own mind) if anything totally negative does come from this. And I can't bear the thought of that.

Hopefully you understand and forgive me for this rather dramatic introduction. There are positive moments, and there are moments which might make you happy. But I want to be clear that it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

(Also most of these warnings apply to later books that aren't out yet. I just figured since this one ends in a certain way you'd appreciate them here so the story is more continuous and stuff I don't know)

Do feel free to share your thoughts on what I've provided you with, and let me know if you think you'll want to read it when it does, eventually, begin. I'd love to hear from you.

Shit is about to go down, y'all.

Fasten your seat belts, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

(Ew the cheese kill me now)

Izzy

Edit: I've realised that many people are confused by the ending: this is a three book series. the next book in the series is Detecting Falsehood, and then it's Uncovered Illusion
