[AVOID] The Next Selection ?

~Chapter 5 The Interview~

"One last question. Any action between you two yet? It looks like you spend the most time with him." My face heats up and I'm sure that my face is more red that my dress or hair. "Uhhh.... no?" I say more like a question more than a statement. "Hmmm lets give the Prince a little more time then probably there will be a little more to look forward to. Thank you Lady Alexis I would love to continue I really would but time has not been willing, thank you again and goodnight." "Its all my pleasure Gavril thank you." 

I take my seat and see Iris staring at me with a 'really' look stuck on her face. 'What' I mouth to her. She shakes her head and chuckles lightly. 

After the report I head out not wanting to eat dinner. Iris doesn't let me go. "Hey you promised to tell me." I groan in defeat and turn to face her. "After dinner can you come over to my room." "Sure, as long as I get an answer." I chuckle then turn towards the stairs only to be stopped again. "Lady Alexis where are you going?" 

Of course.

I turn and curtsy to the Prince. " Your highness I was heading to my room since i don't really have that much of an appetite." He walks over to me and whispers, "Can you come over to my room later? It doesn't have to be at an exact time you can come whenever you want. Do you remeber officer Leger?" I nod confused. "He is the guard in the hallway, I will let him know that you will be coming." "Yes your majesty." "I told you not to call me that." "When we were alone." "Ok I get your point. See you later Lady Alexis." I nod then take an actual step to the stairs.

But no.

"Alexis." I sigh and once again turn around. Its Iris again."What was that about?" "I will tell you later now can I please actually get to my room before I turn 20?" She laughs then walks to the dining hall.

~Maybe 30 minutes later~

There's a knock on the door, "Who is it?" "Hmm who do you think?" Iris asks sarcastically.

I get up and open the door. She walks in and sits on the edge of my bed. "By all means come in and get comfortable." I mutter sarcastically.

"Alexis sit, now." I do as I'm told. "Alexis tell, now." "Okay so as you know me and Drew had a uh date. So_"

"Wait ou call each other by your first names?" 

I mentally slap myself for letting that out. "Pleasedonttellanyone." I say hastily. "Why would I tell anyone? I mean yeah thats cool but I'm not going to let you get the cold shoulder from all the sluts in the selected." 

I breath I didn't know I was holding came out  in relief.

"Should I continue or_" "Just talk already." Well she sounds impatient. "Okay, okay geez, anyway so we were on our 'you know what' and um we were walking around the gardens." "Yes?" "We were now walking near the lake so we sat on one of the little benches there. It was just sunset so the view was obviously amazing. I told hime that 'the view is so beautiful' and he turns away from the lake and just lloks at me." "Continue." "Then he said that  the view was not as beautiful as me and_" 

"Awwwwwe. I should be jealous but thats so cute."

I stare at her in confusion then continue. "So after he said that he turned my head to face him. And then he leaned in." "Oh my gosh you must continue now." Iris urges. "So by instinct I leaned in as well and we nearly you know kissed when_" 

"Wait did you say nearly?" "Just shush and listen if you want to know." "Yes our majesty." "I'm sorry what?" "Well it looks like you have this competition in the bag now." I shake her theory out of my head and continue. "Then just before our lips connected a guard came and told us that there was a rebel attack." She whines in disappointment as if it happened to her. 

"How about what happened just before supper?" "Oh he was asking if I could go over to his room, which reminds me I should go now. Sorry Iris." "Go run for your beloved Prince Charming." We both laugh. "Did you see what I did there?" "Yes I did and as you said I must run." "That's not all I sai_" I close the door behind me and speed walk to the stairs. 

When I reach the corridor for the royal family there is officer Leger. He tilts his head and creases his eyebrows. Then his eyebrows rise in recognition. "Lady Alexis?" "Yep that would be me." He directs me to where Drew's room is. Opposite his is what I assume to be Kiara's room. I can hear a faint noise of giggling but ignore it.

I knock on the door and there is no answer. I knock again a little louder this time. I notice that the door is slightly ajar and peek through. 

Seconds later my eyes sting and tears blur my vision.
