Investigations took place. Survalance systems examined and gone over. It was strange. Nobody knew what had happened.
It was if......
It was as if there was a blast that manifested across the room.... And took down the commander.
A shot that rang true and planted itself into the space between Commander (L/n)'s dull (e/c) orbs, right in the root of her nose, in rapid succession. Confusion and oblivion the last emotions she held across her face before the white light engulfed her features and rendered her unconscious. Her face falling slack as she lost consciousness that fateful day.
......
It had been over two months since that had happened. Life carried on and Commander (Y/n) had been inert the entirety of this time span. Her body unmoving and stilled as it lay in a clear pod like bed, a gel like, blue liquid keeping her form healthy as her skin absorbed nutrients from the strange concoction.

I know Shiro had said that we should be training and focusing on the mission at hand but.... I couldn't help it. I had to check on her again. I missed her and all I wanted to do was to talk to her.
Even if she couldn't respond....
As I entered the dark room we kept her in, the elevated platform the pod lay on illuminating the room in a soft blue glow as it shone on my paladin armor. She looked like snow white then, I realized, when we put her in there at first. A ghost of a smile tugging at my lips as I carried my chair over to the pod and sat down, my arms resting next to the sealed glass as I looked at her calm face with a gentle expression, my chin resting on my arms as I gazed at her profile only inches from my own face, the glass and liquid our only separation.
"Hey," I whispered softly, my own deep blue eyes reflecting back at me as I saw my reflection in the surface of the pod. "Its been a while.... how's it going in there? Yeah.... looks pretty relaxing." I stated, as if she could hear me.
I knew she couldn't.
But it was nice thinking that she was. She was always a good listener when we hung out on earth. She was like the older sister I never had. I think that's how she was with everyone. So nice and caring. She was always there for you when you needed to get something off your chest or if you needed advice.
Whilst I reminisced about the past, I lost track of time, it wasn't until I felt something wet going through my glove that I realized that I had started to cry. A sad smile tugged at my lips as I sat up from my position in my chair and whipped away the tears, a chuckle escaping my lips as I stood and patted the pod.
"See ya later, bud. Please wake up soon...."
I whispered before stepping out of the room and walking off, the sliding door shutting behind me as I walked off.

Something was off. Though the commander's condition had not changed, seeing as she was still inside the chamber in the castle, but the seemingly ancient castle had begun to detect strange anomalies in the far reaches of the universe. The other lions of Voltron had seemed to be gravitating towards that particular location for quite some time now. It was as if the lions were trying to tell the paladins that they needed to go there. Nobody was entirely sure why it was happening but it was beginning to become an issue.
"Its rather strange that the lions act like this. Perhaps they're trying to go home?" Allura had suggested one day, Team Voltron was at a loss for what was happening to the lions. It wasn't everyday that an entire team of giant robotic lions would be attempting to go to the far reaches of the universe, was it? The paladins all looked at one another, sharing a look before everyone looked to Shiro for his call on the situation. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he looked out the castle ship's enormous windows, stars dancing with one another in the distance as their winking glow shone in every direction.
"The problem isn't going to be solved until we see what's causing the lions to act this way. What we need to do is start trying to pinpoint the exact location this force is coming from. Pidge, Hunk. I want you two working together to start tracking the location. Keith, Lance, you're with me. Get to your lions and meet me at the front of the castle." Shiro instructed as he too began his decent to his lion, the black lion's yellow eyes flickering to life the moment it's pilot entered the hanger in his speeder.
A few minutes later, the trio was gathered outside of the castleship as Shiro explained what they were doing. But what they were soon to face was something words could not even fathom to try to describe the spectacle that was their destination....
Or rather the destination of many others...
