A/N: Heyo! You kind of already know where this scene is taking place but of course, I won't leave out any detail. Also, I have slightly altered the scene for lore purposes. Also sorry for the late update! I haven't been feeling good all day today. 'Kay, see ya at the end of the chapter! (Art credit goes to Kanzaki-vs)

Connor's POV

While Connor waited for (Y/n) and the Lieutenant to finish up their lunch break he had thought to himself. My defectiveness is growing worse, and it's becoming more noticeable. What am I to do if Cyberlife finds out? I should just ignore all these software instabilities. Maybe it'll set my programming back to normal. He was flashed out of his mental debate when the two doors on the left side swung open. "What's the address, Connor?" Lieutenant asked putting the keys into ignition.

"Barley Ave. Apartment 105 on the top floor." He copied the report off the top of his head.

The Lieutenant, (Y/n), and Connor sat in the musty car on their way to the said location of a supposed deviant. (Y/n) sat in the backseat while Lieutenant and Connor sat in the two front seats that had perfect visual of the parking spot that he was pulling into. "Here we are." The Lieutenant announced; turning the engine off. "I'm going to make a call to Fowler and let him know of the situation. No schmoozing while I'm gone, got it?" Connor and (Y/n) both nodded. He stepped out of the car leaving Connor and her alone.

"Connor?" She broke the tension.

He didn't turn around to face (Y/n), but instead stared at her through the visor mirror. Connor's chocolate orbs boring into her (E/c) ones. An intense moment between the two. Here goes nothing. He finally decided to speak up. "Yes, Detective?" He resorted to calling her by her official work title.

"Woah wait why are we back to Detective?" She somberly questioned.

"It's more professional than calling you by your first name. I'm sorry to disappoint, Detective." He repeated in a stone-cold manner that even made him internally cringe. For a short moment, his LED flickered an amber yellow then back to a soft blue. Luckily, (Y/n) hadn't seen it.

"Why the sudden change of heart? Y-You were fine during lunch." She questioned feeling a bit hurt that Connor was neglecting her out of the blue.

"Like I said, it's more professional than calling you by your first name. We are coworkers after all." Connor stated harshly. He could feel his Thirium pump palpitate within his chest.

"So-" (Y/n)'s voice slightly cracked at the beginning of her sentence. "Last night... What was that?"

"At first it was an error in my software that had repaired itself rather quickly. The rest of it was moral support for the passing of your deceased father." Connor partially lied.

Through the mirror, he saw (Y/n) shake her head depressingly with glistening tears on the verge of falling off her waterline. But there was nothing he could do about it. If he wanted to fix the actual errors in his software then he had to stay put until told to do something. I must follow protocol. She threw the door open rubbing her eyes and walked past the occupied Lieutenant.

Confused, he hung up the phone and opened the car door aggressively. "What the hell happened in here? I was gone for less than five minutes!" Lieutenant shouted.

"I'm unsure why the Detective is acting peculiar. But to the looks of her route, she's on her way to the apartment. We should catch up with her." Connor blankly suggested; fighting against everything to run to her and calm her. "Fucking plastic pricks. All you care about is your fuckin' mission. You don't seem to understand that us humans have feelings. So whatever the fuck you said obviously upset her. Join us when you're not a smart ass dick!" The Lieutenant slammed the door shut and jogged over to the speed walking (Y/n). What have you gotten yourself into, Connor?
