With her music blasting on the highest setting of her phone, Mae bobbed her head as she stepped around the large pile of jeans she had just unpacked to get to her open soft drink.

It was the following morning and to her surprise, her first night in murder house wasn't as bad as she thought it would be.

The Hart family spent their hours before going to bed in their claimed rooms, unpacking and molding everything to their perfection. They had been so focused on getting rid of as many boxes as they could, they all had skipped dinner. All Mae had to eat before going to bed was a bag of Cheetos and three pouches of Capri-sun.

The pink haired teen wasn't even sure when she had fallen asleep, but when she woke, she was not happy with the state her room was in. Mae had always been a clean freak. She expected everything to be organized and presentable, and not just for herself. She would often get on her father and brother to clean their room, and keep everything in an orderly fashion.

As Mae brought the drink to her lips, her brown eyes scanned her room and she relaxed when seeing that it was a little more organized than before. She then turned her attention to her blaring phone, before sitting on her bed and clicking the home button to display the time.

She tiredly sighed when seeing that only ten minutes had passed since the last time she had checked.

Mae wasn't sure why she had woken up at the time she had, seeing as she was not one to sleep for so long. She had been diagnosed with insomnia two years ago, so she was always tossing and turning until 1 in the morning, only for her to wake up three hours later. She wasn't one to stay asleep for more than four hours, so when she saw that she had slept until 12 in the afternoon, she was perplexed.

Just as she took another swing of her Sprite, her bedroom door swung open and Xavier entered with a glum expression on his face.

"What's wrong with you?" Mae chuckled as her brother threw himself on her bed, head first.

Her ears strained to hear her brother whimpering against the mattress. She grinned at the tired demeanor he displayed.

"Oh, suck it up." She nudge at his side, before falling right next to him. "And get off my bed, too. I just made it, and you're messing up the covers."

"I'm just so tired...and bored." Xavier moaned. He turned to lay on his back, and stared at the ugly chandelier hanging above the edge of his sister's bed.

"I'm just hungry." Mae muttered under her breath. "I mean, we have no food in the house. Granted, we just moved in not even 24 hours ago. It's just... sad that we have nothing by now."

Although her eyes were fixated on her ceiling, she was able to feel her brother nod his head in agreement.

"I could so go for a taco." He mumbled.
