Mae let out a gasp as she could no longer see anything.

The four teens quickly scrambled onto their feet, breaking away from the circle. Mae and Eric rushed towards the antique lamps, helplessly flicking at the light-switch as they did not want to remain unprotected from whatever entity they had been talking to.

"Why aren't the lights on, yet?" Mae heard her brother ask, fear gripping at his voice.

The sound of shuffling met her ears, before a thump echoed through the living room. She tried to follow the noise, but didn't get far as she ran right into one of the couches. Her knees slamming against the sectional's hard leather arm, causing her to lurch forward and land on the cushion.

"The switch isn't working." Amy called out, "The lamps?"

From her spot on the couch, Mae shook her head. "The lamps aren't working either. Do you think we blew a fuse?" She wondered aloud.

"No." Eric answered. Mae was able to make out the outline of everyone's figure. Eric and Amy were a little easy to recognize as their matching red mane clashed against the dark shadows of the house.

She watched as the redhead carefully walked back to the circle, grabbing onto the shot glass and placing the object in the pocket of his sweatpants. "I think whatever we were talking to, did this."

The response sent a chill down Xavier's and Amy's spine, while Mae let out a giggle. The action caught the three off guard, all eyes turning onto the brunette.

"Mae? What's funny about this? How could you not believe in ghosts after everything we just saw?" Xavier huffed, glaring at his sister and her blindness to the situation at hand.

"No, I believe in spirits. Heck, I saw and even talked to one at my field trip the other day. It's just-" Mae paused, falling short on how to properly word her sentence. "I don't think a spirit has the power to mess with our generator."

"Well, we don't know anything about it." Amy brushed back a piece of her hair behind her ear, before nervously crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well, we do know one thing." Xavier voiced, nodding towards Mae. "It wants Mae."

Eric scrunched his face up at the teen's words, while Amy brought her head down. Both siblings baffled by the boy's bluntness.

"Xavier!" Mae shouted; although, knowing her brother couldn't see her, she heatedly glared at the boy. "Asshole." She muttered under her breath.

"But he's right." Amy's soft voice entered the mix, "Xavier, you let that thing out, and it could be roaming around the house as we speak. What if it tries to posses Mae?"
