Auntie's impeccable timing and planning allowed us to be at the venue just before the guests began to arrive.
I was still wearing my wedding dress as it wasn't too difficult to move around with but Auntie ushered me into a room to fix my hair and makeup before engulfing me in a hug which surprised me.
"I'm so proud of you (Y/N). I mean.. I missed most of your childhood but I'm.. I'm going to make up for it. I promise." She said softly as we left the room, watching as cars pulled up in the driveway and people magicked our front.
The place looked great and, like the ceremony venue in the forest, everything was set up nicely. Auntie's handiwork, naturally.
Gentle music was playing and there were tables with food on. The place was firmly lit and we had only invited those who had been good to us. Little did I know I'd get a party crasher.
Regina slipped a masquerade mark over my head and I grinned, turning to Peter who was wearing a gold mask. His was larger than mine and had less detail but was still shiny.
Mine covered my eyes but the intricate gold sparkly design stood out and branched out up.
We looked perfect and Auntie put a black mask on which contested beautifully with the red dress she now had on before going to greet people.
Everyone had a mask on but Peter and I were the only ones with gold masks. I was completely and utterly mesmerised by how perfect everything was and was barely aware of who was hugging me and congratulating me.
Later, as everyone was mingling and eating, I watched as my brother walked up to the front, where the musical equipment was and he grabbed a microphone, smirking and sliding his green mask off.
"Hey, if I can grab your attention please?" He said into the mic, tapping it which was a bad idea as we all heard the squeak of feedback. His British accent was clear as people quietened down and turned to him.
"Ladies, Gents and anyone who might've snuck in for a free meal." My chuckle was not alone as everyone grinned up at my baby brother. "My name is Cameron (L/N) and I'm the brother of the bride and can I just say that it's such a great honour to have the first speech. At least I thought it was an honour until I realised that I'm actually the warm up act for the groom and everyone else." More laughter. "Cheers Peter, I feel loved!
I want to firstly like to thank everyone for coming today. We've got people here who've travelled long and far... aka Storybrooke." Laughter again. "I think that shows how much we all want to be here today to celebrate (Y/N) and Peter's wedding... Or how much we all want to be here to get the free food." Wow, he was going down well with his audience. "Which brings us nicely onto the time that every bride fears.....what is he going to talk about....is he going to tell about the time when...??!! Well as you instructed (Y/N), I won't tell of any of those times even though it cost me 99% of my first draft. But Peter, I've got some of her baby pictures round the back just for you!"
