~Galra Difficulties~ (Voltron Keith)

Keith's P.O.V

As I opened my eyes I heard the sound of two people speaking. I sat up slowly, realising it was Shiro and Lance. They both turned to me and I looked at them awkwardly, remembering everything that had happened the previous day.

"U-Um... I just wanted to say I'm really sorry for what I said to you both. I-I wasn't really feeling too good and I said some stupid things." I mumbled, suddenly becoming aware of how weak I felt. I was struggling to hold myself up.

"It's okay, Keith. I forgive you. We could tell you weren't in your right mind" Shiro said. "What exactly happened while we were gone?"

If you tell them I'll make your life a living hell..

"I-I just suddenly started feeling really weak a-and then you two came" I said, deciding that pretending I didn't know worked better.

"And you don't know where the bruises come from?" Lance asked. I shook my head.

Get used to seeing them..

"Do you still feel weak?" Shiro asked. I nodded a little, letting out a sigh.

"I'm sick of this already.." I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.

"Yeah, understandable. Your eyes are still yellow by the way" Lance said. I huffed and hugged my knees. Suddenly, I spotted a galra soldier standing behind Shiro, a knife aimed at his throat.

"SHIRO WATCH OUT!" I shouted, pulling him forward away from the soldier. All of a sudden the soldier disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Lance and Shiro gave me a confused look.

"T-There was-" Before I could finish I spotted a figure run passed the door.

"There!" I shouted, getting up and running after it. My legs were shaky and I had a head ache but I kept running. I saw the figure go around the corner but when I looked, no one was there.

"Keith... what are you doing?" Lance asked, out of breath just like Shiro was.

"T-There was someone there.." I said, leaning against the wall. My world was currently spinning. I spotted the figure again, poking his head around the wall of another corridor. I began chasing after it again, watching as it ran into a room. I followed it and cornered it. The figure was a galra soldier, different from the one earlier. This one was unarmed, strangely.

"What... what are you doing here?" I asked, having lost all of my energy. The other two ran into the room, looking around.

"See? He's here!" I said, pointing to him. Shiro and Lance gave me a confused look.

"Keith, no one's there" Shiro said. I frowned at him. How can he not see it?

"Look! Right there!" I shouted, moving closer to the soldier and pointing at it with both hands.

"T-There's... there's nothing there Keith" Lance said, walking up to the soldier. He waved his hands about, his arms going through the soldier. I rubbed my eyes and blinked.

"B-But he's.... I-I see him. He looks s-so real. He has to be real!" I shouted, walking over to Lance. I took his Altean phone and took a picture of the soldier. However, when I went to check the picture, he wasn't in it. I looked back to the corner, only to see that he was gone.

"W-What..? I-I swear he w-was right...! I-I'm not going crazy.." I mumbled, starting to get worked up.

Who knows, you might be..

"Keith, I promise you no one was there" Lance said, putting his hand on my shoulder.

"... I-I think I'm gonna go back to bed" I said, rubbing my eyes and slowly exiting the room. I felt both embarrassed and fed up. I walked down the corridor, suddenly remembering something.

I can come out here..

The shadow appeared, standing next to me.

"J-Just leave me alone" I mumbled, continuing to walk.

You know what I want..

"Yeah and you aren't having it. I'm not stealing quintessence for you" I replied.

Well you remember what happened last time, don't you..?

I began running down the corridor, hoping I could outrun the shadow. It seemed to be able to easily keep up with me. My legs were weak and shaky making it impossible to run properly. I soon realised I couldn't outrun this thing. Maybe I could stall?

"I just realised I don't know your name" I said, stopping in my tracks.

I don't have a name..

"Well I could give you one, couldn't I? What do you wanna be called?" I asked.

Just call me.... Texer..

To be honest that was a pretty bad name but I stuck with it.

Are you.... are you trying to stall?

"Uhhh no" I replied, scratching the back of my neck. Texer stepped closer to me, his eyes narrow.

You'll pay for that.

He put two fingers on one side of my neck and two more on the other. I tried to pull away but I couldn't move.

Your friends wont be here to save you this time..

I felt the energy start to drain out of me, just like last time. It felt a lot more intense this time though. My legs gave in and I crumpled to the floor, Texer following me down.

"S-Stop..." I whispered, feeling my eyes start to close. I heard footsteps before I lost consciousness.

Third P.O.V

Shiro spotted a shadow leaning over Keith. It was glowing black and had it's fingers on Keith's neck who was passed out on the ground. Shiro quickly ran over, hoping to catch the shadow. However, it disappeared the second it noticed him and Lance.

"Keith!? Are you okay!?" Lance yelled, rushing over to him and shaking him gently. He looked about 10 shades too pale and his eyes could only open to little slits. Keith tried to open his eyes more but he just felt so drained. He couldn't move.

"We should get him to bed. He seemed to get better the last time this happened." Shiro said, picking Keith up and taking him to his room, being followed by Lance. Once they arrived Shiro placed Keith on the bed.

"S-Shi.... L-La..." Keith could barely get words out. He tried to lift up his hand but Shiro pushed it down gently.

"You can explain later. Get some rest for now, okay?" Shiro said, pushing the hair out of Keith's face. Keith couldn't even find the energy to nod. He just closed his eyes, falling asleep almost instantly.

"What is he not telling us?" Lance asked.

"There was some weird shadow thing. It seemed to be taking the energy out of him." Shiro said. He looked closely at Keith's neck, spotting two bruises on either side. "I think this has happened before but Keith just isn't telling us"

"What about the hallucinating?" Lance said.

"I don't know. We need to get a cure for this as soon as we can. I'm not sure what kind of permanent effects this might have on Keith" Shiro explained, tucking Keith in.

"You're right" Lance said, running his hands through his hair.
