Zac's POV
"Jess...How are you feeling?" I asked her, sitting up from the laying positions I was on the couch next to her.
"You weren't there," She says softly, her eyes fixed on the wall in front of her. Her words broke my heart, she went through a lot and I feel so bad that I wasn't there to protect her.
"Jess, I know... I had no idea..." I say, taking her hand in mine.
"You told me you'd make sure nothing bad ever happens to me." She says and the guilt I already had was magnified even more by her statements.
"Jess.."
"I'm tired." She says in a monotone and turns the other side, facing away from me.
I felt so guilty but part of me knew it wasn't my fault, she made the choice to date him and is paying the price for it cause if she was with me, none of this would have happened in the first place.
I want to argue with her but looking at her state and the thought of him actually raping her? She didn't deserve that one bit. Instead of saying anything further, I decided to just get out of here and give her some space.
I step out of the room and notice her doctor, Ms.Parker standing at the side of the door. I don't know how long she was standing there but it's highly likely, she was listening in on our conversation.
"Mr. Steele, can I speak to you for a minute? It's about Jessica." She says, in an American accent, blushing slightly after being caught off guard.
"Yea, sure," I say, following behind her and we enter her office. I casually take a seat opposite her desk.
"So, Jessica is making a really quick recovery and that's great, however, she is still in the state of trauma and that may take some time to heal. But being surrounded by people she's usually close to, will really help.... and she definitely needs to speak to a professional, I wouldn't mind recommending someone." She says.
"Right, thank you, doctor, I actually called her sister and so she will be the best person to handle all of this, she should be here by tonight actually, so I'll let her know what you suggested," I say and she looks at me confused.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I just assumed you were Jessica's boyfriend." She says.
"Yea.. no. We're just friends." I say and she nods, smiling shyly. "So is that it?" I ask her.
"Yea, that's about it." She says smiling.
"Okay then, thank you, doctor," I say, standing up to leave.
"Another thing Mr. Steele," she says and I turn to look at her. "It's not your fault." She says and I look at her confused.
"What happened to your friend, it could've happened to anyone. It's never your fault." She says and I felt a little uncomfortable that she was getting involved but considering she's Jessica's doctor, I didn't say too much and just gave her a nod and a polite smile.

"Where's my sister and what the hell happened?" Jade shouts through the hallway of the hospital the minute she spots Tiana and me from afar.
"Jade, she's doing fine right now, but she's sleeping," Tiana tells her, walking up to her and giving her a hug. The truth was Jessica had woken up and started trashing and screaming from a nightmare that the doctors had to sedate her so now she's completely knocked out.
"Okay, but what the hell happened? Why isn't anyone telling me what's going on? the whole flight here I was panicking." She says frantically and Tiana looks over to me as if waiting for me to chime in. I give her a look telling her to do it and she motions for me to do it.
"I'm sorry, is someone going to tell me or do I have to walk in there and wake her up to tell me herself?" She asks sarcastically. Jessica is feisty but her sister is next level.
"I'll tell you," I say and Tiana moves away saying "I'll go get you guys some coffee." and leaves I usher Jade to the hospital lobby where there were couches and she takes a seat with me.
"What happened Zac? you're scaring me." She says.
"Jason, he sort of attacked your sister," I say and she looks at me in complete shock.
"Jason as in her ex-boyfriend? She told me they broke up cause they weren't doing well together. What do you mean he attacked her? Wasn't it a mutual agreement?" She asks and I realized that Jessica never told her sister anything about their relationship.
It looks like Tiana and I are the only people who know. Part of me felt that I should let Jessica tell her herself but at the same time, Jessica really needs Jade right now and how can she help her sister if she knows nothing. So I decided to just tell her everything.
"Oh my God, Oh my god, Oh my god!" Jade begins tearing up but still manages to compose herself. I realize she's much stronger than Jessica at handling emotions. Which I think is what Jess need's right now too. "Why didn't she tell me anything? I don't understand. Did she not trust me?" Jade asks a little hurt
"What? No! She probably didn't want to trouble you. You had fashion week and releasing of your clothing line in Asia."
"BUT SHE'S MY SISTER DAMMIT!" She raises her voice taking me off guard."I can't believe none of you thought to tell me anything." She says really pissed as she stands up. "I want to speak to her doctor." She says sternly.
"Yes of course. Her doctor's not here right now, but tomorrow morning she'll be here." I tell her gently, standing as well. "Okay then." She says and I can tell, she was holding in all her emotions as she sucks in her breath and puts on this strong composed faced.
"You wanna call your parents?" I ask her.
"Absolutely not! They'd be too worried and we don't need more drama now. My sister needs help and everyone around her needs to be people strong enough to give her that." Jade speaks in confidence.
"Yes absolutely. Just let me know what you need." I tell her and she looks at me, staring into my eyes for a few seconds then says "You're a good guy Zac.
I really wish my sister was smart enough to see that." I didn't know what to say to that so I just give her a weak smile thinking "that makes two of us."
My phone buzzes in my pocket and I pick it up. "Ummm... Mr.Steele, we have a problem." I hear Tim, one of Jesse's bodyguard say on the other line. Jade gesture's to me that she's going into her sister's room and I give her a nod.
"What problem Tim?" I ask him, really not in the mood for this right now.
"We had Jason locked up with us and I don't know where he stole a gun but he did and he umm... he shot himself in the mouth." He says and I instantly freeze, shocked by this information. We had planned to report him to the cops and this wasn't what I had in mind.
He deserved to pay for what he did but killing himself was an easy way out for him. The next thing I was about to say to Tim, wasn't something I was proud of "Are you guys still at the hotel?" I ask Tim. "Yes, Sir."
"Does anybody else know that Jason is there?"
"No Sir, it's just the two of us and you. Apparently, he sneaked in and nobody is aware he came here." He says.
"Perfect! Then can you make sure, nobody ever knows he was there? You don't have to tell me or anyone what you do." I say.
"Done Sir!" He says, knowing exactly what I meant.
"Thank you, Tim." I sigh in relieve. It's over. It's finally over and this will only stay between me and the boys.
"Thank you, Zac." I hear Jade's voice from behind me. She had clearly listened in on my conversation and my eyes widen in surprise.
"Jade.... I." I didn't want her to think I do stuff like this all the time.
"Nope... You did what you had to do and I'm thankful to you for it. Now let's not talk about it anymore. It's over." She says smiling at me. Oh, thank God.
"Yeah, it's over."
