I've been gone forever and I'm sorry! If you're still reading this, God bless you for sticking around haha. I hope you're all doing well during this pandemic. Please stay safe, practice social distancing and read this book.

You don't have to read this part if you don't want to. I'm writing this just to tell you guys how grateful I am that you're reading my story. I started writing this as I was overwhelmed by a true incident that happened to someone so close to me and as she came out of it, I felt inspired to write this story, I didn't think anyone would read it but I did hope that it would help anyone who read it. If you loved this story and thought it was worth sharing, please do share it, and cheers to the next chapter. Hope things start looking up for Jessica and Zac ;)

Jessica's POV

Zac and I have been going out for 5 months now and things have been going great so far, he is the sweetest boyfriend, there hasn't been any drama, partly because we don't see each other often, but when we do, we're both really clingy. It's been a lot of me staying over at his place or him staying over at mine.

The one thing that  sucks is the distance. Zac lives in the big old, extremely boujee Beverly Hills mansion, while I live down here in Malibu. The drive to go over to the other side is extremely long. Hence, when we're together, we end up staying over.

Tonight Zac is coming over for dinner cause he's working on song with a producer down here so it felt like the perfect chance to spend time together. I decided to cook up my famous baked rice in a capsicum. It's my go to when I'm feeling fancy. I bought a chocolate mouse for desert, and Zac said he'll be bringing wine.

He walks through the door looking dashing as ever in his white T-shirt, washed out black jeans and his leather jacket. "Hey gorgeous," he greets me with his raspy, very British voice, as he immediately pulls me in and gives me a warm kiss on the cheek. My eyes darts to the wine and flowers he had in his hand "Ah, my beautiful bottle of Merlot, thanks babe", I say reaching out to grab the wine and flowers from his hand. He just chuckles and shakes his head as we walk past my very big living room, and head to my kitchen.

"That smells so good! Let me guess, it's the capsicum rice thing again." He says knowingly, as he walks into the kitchen and begins looking around.

"Stop, you love my baked capsicum with rice. And it's one of my expertise." I defend, as I pull out a vase and begin filling it with water, I pass it to Zac to put the flowers in. He obliged, as he always does. I never thought this is what Zac would be like as a boyfriend.

He is so much more gentler and sweeter to me now. He does whatever I ask or want him to do and he just takes care of me like I'm the most important person to him. I mean, Zac has always looked out for me and stuff but he was always very aggressive or impulsive, he had that trait where if something didn't go his way, he would crack. This Zac is a whole new Zac to me. And I really like it.

"Babe, did you make this?" Zac asks, starring at my store bought chocolate mousse in the fridge. "Yea I did." I lie to him, just for the fun of it. He look at me with a doubtful frown, and then proceeds to reach out and take one of the cups. He stares and examines it, then looks at me with a questioning, "I don't believe you" look. "You did not make this." He chuckles knowingly.

"You know Zac, after all the effort I put into making you a fabulous dessert, and you just...."

"Jess...the cup is engraved with the store name Jose&Dan." He cuts me off and shines light on my lie immediately.

"Oh..." I say looking at him with an "I've just been caught in a lie look" as he looks back at me, in amusement. "Well, I could make chocolate moose". Was all I could say, pulling out glasses and plates to place on the dinning.
