The 5 Year Surprise

Chapter 2: Remigrate
Hiccup POV:
"Well this is it Toothless! I've finally graduated from College!" I exclaim to my black and furry cat. He purrs and layed back down. "Now cheers to me being a Teacher!" I exclaim and take a sip of my drink. "Ahh." I say and put my cup down. I put toothless into his crate.
"Goodbye dorm room." I smile, and take my last box, and Toothless crate out of my dorm room and shut the door. I put my stuff on the floor and I took a deep breath. "Ok on to life." I huff and pick my boxes back up. I grabbed my keys and walked to the elevator.
"Hey Mr. Grimborn!" I say, and click the button down to the lobby. "Hiccup! Leaving?!" He says and pats my shoulder. The elevator closed. "Yep! Heading back home, to pursue the dream." I exclaim. "Oh boy! Your gonna make a great teacher," Mr. Grimborn, my favorite teacher exclaims, and shakes my shoulder. "Thanks so much sir! It means a lot." I say, and the elevator rings. "This is my stop." He says and gets out. "Until we meet again, Haddock." He smiles and left. "Bye." I sigh.
My elevator opened and I walked out of the lobby of my dorm. Students where everywhere, carrying boxes and talking. They were either leaving or getting checked in to college.
I pushed open the doors, to be hit by the suns rays. They burned bright and hot. I blocked the sun with my hand, and the crate fell.
"Toothless!" I exclaim. He whined. "I'm sorry bud I didn't mean it!" I worriedly say, and he hissed at me. "Yea yea." I say and grab my shades.
I walk over to my car, and put my stuff into the back seat. I take Toothless out of his crate and put him in the passenger seat. "There! I'm nice, you don't have to sit in your crate." I laugh and he rubs my hand.
I grab my seat belt and clip it in. I turn the ignition on, and pull out. "Let's go back to Berk buddy." I say, and drive back home.

I rang my parents doorbell, and the door immediately opened. "Hey!" I exclaim and my mom wrapped me in a hug. "Hey sweetie." She says and I pull away. I smile and she lets me in. "Remember I'm just staying here until I get my own place, and apply for a job!" I say, and flop down onto the couch. "Yes I know dear you've told me this a thousand times!" Mom huffs and I'm greeted by Cloudjumper, my moms cat.
"Hey boy!" I say and I pet him. "So tell me, how's life been dear? Haven't seen ya since Christmas!" Mom exclaims and takes a seat across from me. "It's been hard and tough. But I got through college so." I say and Cloudjumper moves onto my lap, and Toothless wails for my attention. "How Have to been Since dad?" I ask, and she sighs. "Good." She says, referring to my dads death last year.
"Ok change the subject, so you know anything about the gang? I'm gonna have to visit them!" I exclaim. "Oh yes I have!" Mom happily answers, and I grin. "Fishlegs is actually a teacher at Berk Elementary, began last year, and he's married to Heather, they married last year..so he was 22. Snotlout is now an Author and is married to Minden Maiden, and they married last year as well. Tuffnut is still single, and is a famous Comedian. Ruffnut is also still single and is actually a Cosmetologist!" Mom exclaims.
"Wow! They are all so successful and seen so happy!" I say, and then I sigh. "But you forgot one person." I say and look back up to her and she sighs. "Maybe I shouldn't-" "Mom it's fine, I just wanna know how she's doing." I interrupt her and she sighs. "Fine!" She gives in and looks back at me.
"Astrid is now a police graduate and training for a detectives position at Berk Police Department." Mom says, leaving out other information. "That's it? Come on." I urge her. "She's happily married." Mom says and looks at me.
"Married?!"
