You were sore all weekend. Despite not even doing much, your body had the audacity to pull this shit. Sure, you were feeling better by the time Monday rolled around, but not enough to keep you from getting grumpy in the morning. Your mood also wasn't any better when you were approached by Son Goku.
"Hey, I heard you joined the Ginyu Squad!"
Well, he was straight to the point, wasn't he?
"I joined the Cheer Club," you said from between your teeth. "Just like I said I would, remember?"
With a rub of his neck, he glanced away and said, "Man, I still can't believe you did that..."
You felt your eyebrow twitch, and you let out a huff as you crossed your arms. "Why does it matter? Where did you even hear this from?"
There was no way he could tell you about all the rumors he heard in the hall. "I saw you eating with Ginyu last week, everyone did!" He let out a sigh and continued, "But I was a little worried for you, honestly..." He couldn't look away during lunch. He hardly ate, he was too busy making sure you were okay at lunch! But he didn't say that, though it was mostly because you interrupted him.
"I didn't ask you to be worried for me!" With a sigh, you glanced away. "Just drop it, geez!"
"Alright, alright!" Goku waved his hands in front of him, trying to get you to calm down. "It's just a little out of the blue, y'know?" Bringing a hand to his chin, he leaned in and said, "If you ever do need help with the Ginyu Squad..." He gave you a look, and you could practically feel the lift of his eyebrows as he hinted.
With your jaw set tight, you pushed Goku away from you. He seemed to move as a whole object, rather than at the waist like a normal person, but whatever. "I'll be fine! And if I wasn't, I wouldn't have asked you!"
"You wouldn't bother me!"
"That's not it!" You exclaimed as you stomped your foot and pouted. "I can handle my own problems! I don't need you hovering over me!"
He jumped a bit at that and glanced away as he rubbed at the back of his neck. He never meant for you to think that he thought you incapable, he was just worried about you. "R-Really, don't misunderstand me..." But you already hurried past him, rubbing at your shoulders as you left.
"They're moodier than usual," Krillin said as he stepped beside Goku. "Any idea why?"
"It might be the Ginyu Squad," was his response. It was the only thing that changed recently, unless something happened over the weekend that upset you. Still, he saw the way Jeice looked at you, and it made him worried that you might get into a fight or something.
"You think?" Krillin asked as he looked over to Goku. "I guess I haven't heard anything about how they're doing in their club..."
The idea of you being in the Cheer Club, where he had no idea what was happening, it really worried Goku! He wanted you to be safe, but he was always so busy with the Martial Arts Club, so he couldn't check up on you. Not to mention he didn't want you thinking he thought you couldn't take care of yourself. He had no idea what to do, and he didn't like it. There hadn't been a time that he felt this conflicted.
"Not late today!" Yamcha exclaimed as he smacked Goku on the back and ran past the two.
In his surprise, Krillin looked at his wrist, realized he didn't have a watch, and asked, "Is it really that late already?! Come on, Goku!" He ran away, turning back to motion for his friend to follow before the bell rang.
