You had been getting compliments about the cheer performance all day, and while it was a nice difference from all the whispering, it got annoying pretty quickly. Still, you managed to suck it up and say thank you whenever they did, but when you did, you would notice how shocked they would get. Well fuck them! You could be nice, it wasn't a big shock!
Once you got to class, you were sure that all your problems would be over and everyone would shut up. However, you didn't account for Turles being himself.
As he poked you in the back of the head with his pencil eraser, he said, "Hey, nice trick at the game last night. Can't imagine how long it took you to learn something like that."
You set your jaw tight. There was no point in defending yourself to him. He was a bully, and you weren't going to egg him on.
"Come on, babe, don't ignore me."
Oh, that nickname set off a fire in you. You wanted to punch him right then and there, but you gripped the edge of your desk tightly to keep yourself out of trouble. He didn't bother you after that, which was good, because Goku seemed about as annoyed with him as you were. Sure, Goku was an idiot, but his lack of tolerance for bullies was admirable.
The rest of class was finally peaceful. You were actually able to focus on what was being taught, and were able to get through your assignment easily. Once the bell rang, you got up and made for your next class, biology.
You had mixed feeling about biology. As a rule, you hated school and all things involved, but... There was something about the teacher, Professor Cell. He didn't make the class fun or easy, but he did have a certain... magnetism. Maybe you were just going crazy, or suffering from delusions of highschool. At this point, you weren't sure if there was a difference.
You sat in your usual spot, but instead of Goku sitting by you, it was Turles that sat down. When you looked at him, he gave you that borderline sadistic grin, and you saw Goku glaring at him from the side.
"I sit there..." Goku said–almost muttered–with a pout.
"They're not assigned seats," Turles said with a glare. Waving his hand, he said, "Go on, find somewhere else to sit today."
You could tell that Goku wanted to protest. Part of you wanted to get up and leave, but you never sat anywhere else. Hopefully you could put up with a class of his antics.
For a moment, Goku actually looked to you for help, but you just propped your chin in your hand and looked out the window, rendering yourself incapable of seeing his betrayed look.
Taking the hint, Goku left and found a different spot.
Despite your best efforts to ignore him, Turles continued to try to grab your attention. "Can't imagine how they managed to get you on the team. I know how you can be."
He knew how you could be? Were you even hearing him right? He continued to smile at you as the teacher gave the assignment and you went about your business, but he refused to let you be.
"Hey, help me with this, will ya?" He asked as he slid his paper towards you, but he hadn't even started on any questions yet.
Fed up with his nonsense, you looked to him and asked, "What's your problem?"
"Me? Oh, I don't have a problem." With a shrug, he said, "I just can't get over seeing you on the court."
