With a shake of his head, Goku dispelled those thoughts and followed after.
The day was the same as it always was, though Goku had a harder time concentrating than usual, and he didn't have the grades to afford that. Krillin and Yamcha noticed, but they didn't know what to do to help. It wasn't until lunch, when they both saw Goku staring at you with the Ginyu Squad, that they understood the root of his issues.
Scooting down the table and grouping together, Krillin and Yamcha began to discuss. Krillin opened with, "Do you see the look on his face? Dude has it bad."
"I don't know if it's like that," Yamcha replied. "He's been trying to befriend them ever since they attended Shenron, and now that they're buddy buddy with the Ginyu Squad..."
"It's heartbreak, I know it!"
With a sigh, Yamcha continued, "Maybe in a platonic sense, but they've never... shown interest in Goku anyway, and he's only ever been friendly to them."
Arms crossed, Krillin stated, "Then you're just as blind as Ginyu's new cheerleader." He motioned to your table before continuing, "You've gotta read the subtext! Goku doesn't know how to flirt, that's why he's so friendly with them." When Yamcha finally looked from your table and back at Krillin, there was a pink tint to his face, but the other was too into his explanation to really notice. Ah, the irony. "Remember when Chi-Chi was hitting on Goku? He didn't pick up on any of it, and she wasn't exactly subtle about her attempts."
Yamcha nodded at that, picking up the explanation pretty easily, even if he didn't like to face those facts. Krillin continued, "There's no way he's gonna pick up on their hints. They're a tsundere! They're known for being contradicting!"
Glancing to the side, Yamcha muttered, "So that nickname is for reason..."
"Of course it is!" Krillin groaned as he rolled his eyes. "Seriously, how do you not know this? We watched Toradora! together!"
"Hey—! shsh!" Yamcha reached across the table and tried to silence Krillin as a blush burst across his face. Quickly glancing around to see if anyone heard, he muttered, "Keep it down, will you?"
Krillin just sighed and rolled his eyes. Despite the talk they had, they still weren't sure how to approach Goku about the issue. Besides, they couldn't find a private enough moment to bring it up.
Goku couldn't find a moment to talk to you either. Even if he did, he still had no idea what to tell you. He agonized over this rotten feeling and what to do about it, hating to let things like this sit. School ended and he was still struggling with himself. It had even gotten worse, and still there was no help or insight to be seen.
Same as always, Krilling and Yamcha met with him before their club started. "Hey, Goku," Krillin started. "You okay? You seem pretty upset."
"Huh? I'm fine, just..." He scratched the back of his head. "Distracted, I guess. I'm sure it'll be fine by practice time!"
"But seriously. Something's been on your mind all day. As your friends, we could tell."
"Anyone could tell..." Yamcha muttered, promptly elbowed by Krillin.
"Well gee, was it that obvious?" Krilling and Yamcha looked at each other for a moment before nodding. It made Goku sigh as he shook his head. "I'm just... Worried! They don't warm up easily, and I'm worried about what the Ginyu Squad will make them do."
