"Y/N?" Illumi's monotone voice appeared to be close, I turned around and nearly entered a dreamy daze, this time I controlled myself and looked at anywhere but the man standing in front of me.
"Need something?" Why was I getting nervous? There was no way that what I expected to happen would actually happen... I should stop deluding myself.
"Yes, about your training, tonight after dinner and tomorrow morning. That is all, you should not be late for dinner." I rolled my eyes, I didn't know what time dinner was, did everyone expect me to read minds around here?
"What time is dinner?" He stared at me as if I asked the most ridiculous question in the whole world and turning back to enter his room muttered.
"At eight, it's always at eight." With that said he closed his door, and I was left staring at it for a while. He had a nice back too, and I needed to stop thinking about an assassin's body. Was that the thrill I was seeking? To die?
Finally entering my room, I looked around fascinated by the decoration, everything was so beautiful, and all tied together to a dashing F/C. A small knock on my door scared the crap out of me, and I almost tripped over air as I jumped to open it. Gotoh had a tower of clothes well folded handed to me, after I carefully held them, he excused himself and left.
Glancing over at the clock on the left bedside table, I gasped and ran to take a quick shower, I didn't want to guess what they felt about late people.
In a heartbeat, I was dripping wet dots onto the carpet as I observed the clothes Gotoh had got me, there was nothing plain. A purple kimono with pink flowers, some really edgy dark clothes, baggy comfortable clothes, a formal white shirt and f/c flowy dress pants that could probably reach my ankles.
Had no time to look at the other outfits so I just grabbed the white shirt, the f/c pants and some matching slippers from the closet, they had them in different colours, rich assa...-people, I shrugged as I quickly dried my hair with a blessed towel, like seriously smelled like heavens and it was so fluffy. No wonder the chubby Illumi didn't want to leave this place, bet it had the fastest internet too...
I spotted a vintage vanity on a corner and was going to look at my beautiful complexion when a sudden and quick knock echoed across the room. I shouldn't have opened it so easily because Illumi was looking dashing. His silky dark hair was dry and shiny, his complexion, now less pale, probably from the steamy shower, showed some glints of a soft pink, he was wearing a loose dark tank top, showing off the curves of his muscular arms and some comfortable looking pants, slightly baggy but honestly who cared? His hypnotizing eyes fell on me, analysing me, top to bottom before trailing up again.
"Will you train in that after dinner?" His voice showed no hint of sarcasm, but I could feel it burning to my cheeks. I completely forgot about that small detail as I was more bothered thinking about the... the hotness of the man standing in front of me. He must have taken my widened eyes and slightly open mouth as an answer before muttering, "Whatever, let's head to the dining room."
He didn't wait for me, so I had to rush to turn off the lights, close the door and run after him, soon after many turns and twists in corridors we reached the dining room. Kikyo was seating already, with her husband Silva and the one kid that didn't abandon the house apparently, Illumi sat on his usual seat and there was only one more plate served empty, so I sat there. "Y/N" a strong voice rumbled, I stared at the cat eyed dangerous man, somehow his pupils were abnormal, and the ice blue stare didn't help.
"Silva, it's been a while." I nodded, by the corner of my eye, I saw Kikyo and Illumi start eating and I assumed I could do that too. Silently I took a heavy spoon, diving in the rich thick carrot soup.
"Yes, since my fight with Chrollo Lucilfer." I gulped, feeling the chills going through my spine. I shouldn't have said that, now I'd be stuck with this conversation.
"Oh yeah, how did that go?" My eyes now were on the soup, not because it was particularly interesting, but because I had messed up by bringing up the last time I had seen him.
"How do you know the leader of the Spiders, Y/N?" Bluntly ignoring my question, he seemed to have picked not to give up on knowing my connections.
"Ahh... he's an old friend, really likes my books." I answered truthfully, lying wouldn't do me any better, I didn't even know how to get to my room from this place. The maze made sure of it. So, the changes of leaving this place with these guys hunting me... Zero. I'd go as far as to say negative if those were a thing. Maybe that was what they did on family weekends! Oh! hey let's release random people in our maze house and have a hunting feast! Seemed about right... Sadistic but I could picture it.
"Could it be you're dating him? You didn't give a very solid answer when I asked you..." Kikyo assumed, how much could I bury myself? I wondered as I stared blankly ahead before meeting Illumi's onyx eyes, he seemed a bit interested, probably to know my connections, as well. How should I answer this?
"Well yeah he's attractive but I'd rather not get into messy situations." I tried showing all my might answering but, sadly, more questions came.
"So is Illumi not attractive?"
"That's... he is attractive, but the reason is the same, I'd like a peaceful life." The more I said that the more I felt that I was lying to myself. I'd rather die than to be married to a random farmer in a peaceful environment. Now was not the right time for introspection though, I had to change the theme of this conversation as soon as possible.
"Yes, but if you had to choose..." Kikyo today was really into it, huh. Well, I was already fucked, might as well try and make my death quicker.
"The strongest one." My lips curved as I squinted my eyes at Illumi, and then trailed to Silva. "Silva here must have a nice opinion on that, you fought Chrollo and probably know what Illumi is capable of..."
