You wake up bright eyed and well rested today, your body waking up at six in the morning like clockwork. You didn't even need an alarm in the mornings. Your body would just jolt awake and when you check the wall clock in your room, it'll be right at the cusp of 5:59 to 6:00. Your body never got rid of this habit, waking up early to train when you were younger.

You felt a little pang of regret that you didn't continue; Maybe you'd be able to beat Danzo's boy if you did. But you aren't going to let those kind of thoughts spoil your day.

It was finally here. The visit to the Torture and Intelligence Bureau. Keirai was finally going to teach you Shintenshin, and he said you'd be able to use it right away! Excitement spread throughout your cheeks as you try to contain your emotions within.

He gave you small exercises to further hone your chakra focus after the last time you saw him. Things like focusing your chakra on a single spot in your body and then making the leaves stick. Not only on your forehead but on other more specific parts of your body. Like at the very tip of your finger, you could only do it on your index and middle fingers though.

The point of the exercise is to raise your accuracy in chakra molding and to hasten the pace at which you could mold your chakra, which made sense since Shintenshin was basically chakra projection mixed with a bit of yin transformation. You also needed to be accurate on where you threw your projection too. If you missed, it'll basically be a TKO (total knockout) for about five minutes before your consciousness slips back into your body.

You'd be an easy target.

You just want to be proficient enough to use Shintenshin with practiced ease. The keyword being 'Practiced Ease'. You want to feel more confident in your abilities, more confident in yourself so you practiced this every day and night that you could. The weight of that loss hangs heavy in your mind. Heavy, dark, dirty.

You had been complacent. Complacent to just exist for a long time, cruising along with what life had thrown at you. And you didn't want to be the same weak little girl that got her face slammed into the dirt. You wanted to be good enough. Good enough to prove Father wrong. Good enough to prove your worth to the village. To the clans. To the Council.

And you were going to be the strongest of them all so they'll all stay the fuck away.

There is a ceremonial procession in the main house today, everyone looks somber and grave. They'd lined up along the sides of the main road, leaving space in the middle. Father and Ino are standing at the head of the line, looking equally somber and grave. You find Keirai among your clansmen, head-plate in his hand as he lowers his head. You think he's on the verge of crying but you don't ask.

"Sorry, we might have to delay the trip for later, "Keirai says, voice strained and brows furrowed. An unusual expression for him to have. A group of people seem to be leading a boy through the road to an area behind the woods. The boy had soulless eyes and a gaunt face. He didn't seem to be looking at anything in particular, just staring into space with dull eyes. A minute goes by when they've passed you and you see the rest of the people behind him.

They'r like they aren't going to see him again. It dawns on you that these people is probably the rest of his family.

"We haven't had this happen in a while. Three years. Stupid boy, " Keirai says, raining in his heart. He brings his fingers to his forehead and does the Clan Salute when they walk past. Their sad sobs ringing inside of you. You also do the Salute but your shaky fingers prevent you from doing a perfect circle on your chest.
