You stood in your bedroom for a brief sense of normalcy. How had your day turned around in just a second?

You had just talked to a hysteric Pepper on the phone. She was crying, rambling, and begging you to not follow your father. You told her that it was too late, the ship was gone and he was on it. 

You did not tell her that you were going to be on a mission of your own. 

Walking out of your bedroom and into the room where Rhodey was speaking to the Court Marshall, you froze. Before you was Vision, Wanda, Steve, Sam, and Nat. 

Nat and Steve were embracing Rhodes. 

When you came in, they all stopped and looked at you. 

"Hey," you said softly. 

Natasha was the first one to cross the room. She wrapped her arms around you and pulled you close. You hugged her back right away, burying your face in her short, blonde hair. She pulled back and brushed your hair away from you. 

"Look at you," was all she said, and she was smiling with tears in her eyes. 

Steve was next. He hugged you, too. Sam shook your hand. 

Wanda smiled. "I am so sorry," she said. 

You shook your head. "I missed you." 

"I missed you, too," she said. She held out her hand and you took it. Standing in the room, holding hands, you were finally with most of your family. 

"Wait 'til you guys see who else is here," you said. 

They all looked confused and concerned, and then Bruce strode in. "Yeah, I'm back," he said. 

"Hi, Bruce," Nat greeted. 

"Nat," he replied. 

"This is awkward," Sam said. 

Later on, the group came together to plan and discuss what to do. You and Bruce told every detail of what had happened before your dad and Peter went into space - and Wanda and Nat told you about every detail of when Vision was attacked by two other creatures that desperately wanted the Mind stone. 

"So we gotta assume they are coming back, right?" Rhodes asked. 

"And they can clearly find us," Wanda said tiredly. 

Bruce nodded. "We need all hands on deck. Where's Clint?" 

"After the whole accords situation, he and Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families. They're on house arrest."

"Who's Scott?"

"Ant-Man."

"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man?" Bruce shook his head. "Okay, look. Thanos has the biggest army in the universe, and he is not gonna stop until he gets the... the - Vision's stone."

"Well, then we have to protect it," Nat said. 

"No, we have to destroy it," Vision said. Everyone looked at him, shocked. "I've been giving a good deal to the entity in my head. Of its... nature. But also its composition. I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something very similar to its own signature, perhaps... its molecular integrity could fail."

He was looking at Wanda, and then he was looking at you. 

"Yeah, and you with it," Wanda said. "We're not having this conversation."

"Eliminating the stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't take it." He walked over to you. "___, please. You understand-"

"I understand, but I am not doing this," you breathed, voice threatening to break.
