unexpected ; yeonbin

soobin struggled to focus in his classes, he felt anxious at the whispers, his mind making him believe he was the subject. beomgyu sat next to him, talking to him about what he's missed, and how the younger will help him catch up. 

the bell rang and the professor dismissed all but soobin. his classmates left in a hurry for their lunch period whilst soobin stayed behind. 

"i'll wait outside, hyung." beomgyu smiled before walking out of the room. 

soobin held his hands on his lap under his desk, fiddling and pinching at his skin, waiting for the teacher to talk.

"soobin-ssi, your parents called the school last week and we were informed of what happened. luckily, you didn't miss a lot since the different departments were preparing for the open days that took place on the weekend. i want you to know that if there is ever a problem, my door is always open." his professor, mr kim, explained to the boy.

"t-thank you, mr kim." soobin bowed slightly. 

"no need to thank me, kid. if it helps, i know what it feels like. we were told you were suffering from manic depression, a-and i know it's not really my place to talk about it. but i had it when i was your age. and i tried hurting myself too. and i'm t-telling you this, so you can have hope, that everything will be okay." his professor continued, making soobin feel normal. "it is normal to have this and to go through this, soobin-ssi, so don't think any differently. you're never alone." it was like his professor read his mind.

"thank you, mr kim. i-i'm sorry, you went through that to." soobin spoke as he stood, feeling slightly better thanks to his teacher. "m-may i leave now?" 

"of course, i'll see you tomorrow, soobin-ssi." mr kim smiled, allowing his student to leave the room, meeting his best friend. 

soobin felt relieved after hearing mr kim's story and having that conversation, he felt less alone. but unfortunately, his ears weren't the only pair that heard it.
