"You have a problem with my performance?"
"Like I said," he insisted. "There's no problem. It was... fascinating."
Something about the way he said that made a sense of despair settle inside you, and you weren't too sure why. "Well forget it and do your assignment."
"But I'm asking you for help." Once more, he pushed the paper towards you and smiled.
Before you could say anything, a hand was placed on the table between you two. It was Professor Cell, and he looked less than pleased. "You two would do well to be more quiet. Unless of course you need more work?"
"No sir," You both echoed as you looked down.
A small smirk found its way onto the professor's face. "That's what I thought," he said with a chuckle before leaving.
That was weird, and he made you feel weird. His chuckle lit something in the pit of your stomach that you didn't fully understand.
"So?" Turles asked, much quieter.
You rolled your eyes as you went back to your own paper. You weren't too sure why he was so insistent on picking on you today of all days. Maybe the cheer team really was a mistake? You'd gotten a lot of grief over it, for sure.
It seemed that Turles finally decided to take the class seriously and leave you along for a bit, which you were grateful for. However, he began to get on your nerves once he finished with his paper. It was luck that there wasn't enough time left in class for him to do much. As soon as the bell rang, you got up and went to the cafeteria.
Honestly, you still weren't used to having to eat in the cafeteria, but the last time you tried to bring your own lunch and eat out on your usual bench, the entire squad went looking for you. It was too embarrassing to have happen again.
So you ate with the Ginyu Squad again, and then you went to P.E., and then you went to your quiet period. You could tell that Goku seemed upset, and you could tell that it was something you did because he didn't ask you for help at all. He usually at least said something, but this time? Quiet. Turles occasionally poked at you, but neither you nor Goku did anything about it.
Finally, after an agonizingly slow quiet period, you were able to leave and get ready for your club. If you were honest, you weren't really feeling up to it. It kind of felt like you were neglecting something, but you couldn't rightfully put your finger on it.
"Cadet!" Ginyu exclaimed the moment you walked through the door. You were surprised that he beat you to the club room, as you were usually the first one there. "I wanted to warn you about today."
Oh god, you must have done something wrong. Maybe he was going to admonish you for your over-jump during the game the other day. There was too much for you to know for sure, and it was already stressing you out beyond belief.
"What about it?" You asked as nonchalantly as possible, though there was no doubt something terrible revealing about the way you said it, because he gave you a sympathetic look.
"It'll be a late practice. I wanted to start on a new cheer, but also..." He hesitated for a moment. "Frieza plans on visiting today, to check up on our progress. I wanted to warn you ahead of time, since he likes to intimidate people."
