"What's your superhero thing, again?" Rocket asked.

"Oh, um - I'm Ant-Man. Yeah. I can communicate with ants, control them... and most importantly, I can shrink down to the size of an ant and grow to the size of whatever I want on command."

Your friend snickered beside you. "Shrink and grow, huh?"

"Yeah," Scott said.

"Like - your whole body? On command?"

"That's right. Pretty cool, huh?"

Rocket burst into laughter, his elbows dropping to his knees as he bent forward. "Oh, you have a place, alright. Here's how you're gonna defeat Thanos. You're gonna go u-"

You flicked Rocket in the head, sensing where this was going.

"Ow! What the heck!" He looked at you, tears leaking out of his eyes as he continued to choke down on laughter.

"That's enough," you warned. You looked at Scott. "Don't entertain him any further."

Rocket started to laugh again. "What, I'm being serious! It's a legitimate plan!"

"Say one for sentence about it, and I'll shave you," you warned.

                                                                                               ***

"Come on, you can't stop. You have to keep going until you've knocked me on my back and can get to my hand."

You held your arm over your stomach, gasping for air. Thor stood about twenty feet away from you, fists out.

"You..." You gestured to his hands. "You keep using your lightning on me. How's that fair?"

"Thanos isn't going to fight fair," Carol said, walking around the side. "It's stupid to think otherwise."

"Yes, he will be throwing more than sparks of electricity your way," Thor said. "If you really think you can do this, then you need-"

"I can do this," you assured him. You sucked in a deep breath. "I'm going to do this, Thor."

"Hey, I believe in you," he said. He smiled. "Now come knock me out, Stark."

The last few days had consisted of no building weapons or suits for you. You had been strictly put to the task of taking Thor down and proving that you could do this with Carol. Thor had admittedly won every single time, and you were getting discouraged.

"Thor..." You shook your head and grabbed your knees. "I don't... I don't know."

"Come on, ___," Carol said, "you've got this. You're an Avenger."

You shook your head again. "I don't think I'm good enough. Maybe my dad-"

"That's enough," Thor said. He gave you a cold look. "You know that is not even close to the truth."

You pushed your hair out of your face.

"Hey," Carol said, hand on your shoulder. She made you look up. "Remember what I taught you. Dig deep and pull from your heart, pull from your chest. Then let it out. You're focusing on what is in your head. Which isn't the wrong thing to do, but you have to find the balance between mind and heart."

"The balance," you said. "Right."

Thor raised his eyebrows. "You're ready?"

"I think," you said, uneasy.

"No, no, no. Don't just think. You gotta know."

"Right, right... I can do this." You clenched your jaw and shook your fists. He killed Peter.

Peter.

Think of Peter.

"Peter," you felt his name on your lips, leaving in a soft whisper, a soft breath.

Something inside of you changed.

Smirking, you felt the power inside of you consume your arms and flicker around your body. You jumped off of the ground and shouted a cry of pure anger, imagining that it was Thanos in front of you.

You thought of how he'd been a recurring nightmare in your life. He tormented your father, destroyed your family, destroyed the entire universe - killed Peter, killed Rocket's family - he took everything from everyone that you ever loved. He was keeping you from sleeping now.

And all the while, he was able to rest on whatever planet he lived on, living a happy ending.

You were filled with an enormous amount of rage.

Landing on the ground, you lunged at Thor, picturing Thanos-

You knocked Thor on his back in one swift move, and you weren't even aware that you did until he started to laugh.

Snapping out of it, you gasped. You were on his chest, your hand around his neck, your other on his hand, right where the gauntlet would be.

"There! You see?"

Your jaw dropped. "O-Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh!" You started to grin.

"Whoa whoa, don't get too excited. Hand around my neck. Hand around my neck." He pointed to the orange and blue surrounded hand that you had pressed against his skin.

"Oh, right, sorry." You sat back, your knees on either side of his chest, and looked up at the door.

Where Tony and Rocket stood, both of them smiling proudly. Which was all you'd wanted. You wanted to prove to them that you could do it - that you could be the one to take the power from Thanos and wield it.

You got off of Thor and walked towards them.

"Not bad, Stark," Rocket complimented. He punched your thigh lightly. "Looks like I was wrong to doubt ya."

"Told you," you teased, winking at him.

Your dad clamped a hand down on your shoulder and brought you to his chest. "That's my girl," he said.

And your eyes filled with tears, because he sounded so proud. So incredibly proud.

He looked around the room. "In case any of you three missed that, that was my daughter throwing a god on the ground and nearly killing him. A Stark did that."

You smiled and wrapped your arms around him, laughing lightly.

Thor smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes now. "We are ready, Stark. We're ready to end it."

Your dad took in a deep breath. "Then let's rally the troops."
