The stream next to us bubbled and gurgled as we set up the tents. After parking the car in a makeshift dirt parking lot, we hiked for about ten minutes until we found a good spot to stay. We were in a clearing of trees, and on the other side of the stream rose a wall of stone that extended away from us and disappeared into the trees at our side.

"This place is beautiful," I breathed, grinning.

Justice rolled her eyes. "You've never been in a forest before?"

"I'm from Columbus! I'm used to honking horns, not chirping birds," I protested.

"Well, here you are, traversing the great outdoors. Try not to get eaten by wolves or bears," Justice warned sarcastically.

Josh squeaked. "There are wolves and bears out here?"

[Y/n] laughed. "No. But there are spiders that are venomous enough to kill you." She flashed a bright smile.

Josh's face paled. Justice and [y/n] chuckled and gave each other a high five.

After another half hour, we finally finished setting up the tents. I sat on one of the collapsible chairs we'd brought. "That was a lot of work."

"Yes, but now you can lounge in luxury," [y/n] grinned, leaning back in a chair of her own.

I raised an eyebrow. "I hope you're being sarcastic." She shook her head.

"This is the nicest it's gonna get out here," she replied with her eyebrows raised. "It doesn't get any better than this."

I sighed.

This was going to be a long two days.
