"Josh, can I talk to you?" I asked once [y/n] and I returned to the camp.

"Yeah, sure," he replied with an arched eyebrow and confusion in his eyes. I pulled him into the trees, far enough until I knew for certain that the girls couldn't hear.

"What's up, man?" Josh asked with concern. I just shook my head.

"I can't do this, man. It's hard. I need to tell her." I paced back and forth.

Josh sighed. "What happened?"

I paused, then said, "Well, we were collecting firewood, and she was trying to get a piece that was stuck under a fallen tree, and then I tried to help her, and then she fell right on top of me, and then she got up and looked really embarrassed, and I don't know what to do!"

Josh nodded, sighing. "When would you tell her?"

"Tonight," I shrugged. "As soon as we're alone."

Josh scrunched up his face, uncertain. "We have a long ride home tomorrow. What if it goes bad? That'll be awkward." He paused. "Even if it goes well it'll be awkward."

I threw my hands into the air. "What do you want me to do?!"

"You should wait and schedule a time to talk to her. It'll be a lot less stressful for everyone involved," Josh explained. I nodded, still pacing. I sighed.

"I just don't know how long I can keep it in."
