Liam's POV

I'm knocking on Jess' door but she's not answering. I try turning the knob, the door opens and now I'm worried because usually, she locks it. I go straight to the sitting room, she's either there or in her bedroom which I'm hoping I wouldn't have to go to.

'How did you get in!' She asks me, looking up at me from where she's laying on the sofa.

'The door was unlocked. You scared me! Where have you been! I haven't seen you in a week! Ever since Niall left!'

'Don't you dare say that name in front of me!' She threatens.

'What happened?' I ask.

'What happened?' She shouts standing up to face me. 'You happened, Payno! You and Tommo! You two kept pushing Niall and me together! Insisting we're great together! And guess what, I may have fallen in love with him, and he! Wants to be best friends! After he kissed me and admitted that he likes me! So yeah, thanks for that! And now, he's back in LA, and I lost not only one of my only friends but possibly the first guy I've ever felt anything for! And all of that is gone now! I have to move on or whatever! That is what bloody happened!'

She threw herself in my arms crying her eyes out.

'I'm really sorry. We shouldn't have meddled. We really thought he would let go of his stubbornness.'

'Why would he do that?'

'Jess, because you're special. You're so amazing and one of a kind. Any guy wishes he could have someone like you. If anything it's his loss. It'll be okay. I promise the pain won't last forever.'

'You really think so?' She asks, pulling a little away to look at me.

'I know so. Now go get changed and wash up. I'm gonna take you out, we're going to eat anything you want and then we're gonna come back and you'll hang out with me and my friends. I'm sorry, I already invited them like a week ago. I really don't want you to be alone. You were doing so well so far. I'm worried if I leave you alone you're gonna be depressed.'

'Alright. Who are they though?'

'No one you know.'

'Okay. But no more setting up! No more dating! I'm not interested in getting involved with anyone anytime soon.'

'No problem. We'll just chat and have fun. No dating. Guys suck, we're all just horrible.' I joke trying to make her smile, and thankfully it works.

'No, you're not all bad, and you specifically are one of the best!' She smiles at me, the genuine smile not the forced one, so it makes me happy, she's gonna be okay.

I hug her again, place a little kiss on the top of her head before I let her get ready for our afternoon.

Jess' POV

After eating and walking around, we go back to Liam's because his guests should be here any minute. I'm sitting on my usual spot on Liam's sofa, anxiously waiting for Liam and his "guests" to walk in. Liam and four very familiar men finally come in.

'Are you kidding me, Liam? No one I would know! I love those guys! They're awesome!'

'You told her she wouldn't know us? Seriously?' Luke complains.

I stand up immediately to greet the guys and introduce myself because Liam's not doing it.

'Hi! I'm Jess Martin, Liam's neighbour and friend!'

'Hi! I'm Calum Hood, I play bass in 5 Seconds of Summer!'

'Yeah, I know! Nice to meet you!' I chuckle, shaking his hand and then moving along to Luke.
