3.2 - Summer - Studio

'I actually do!'

'Oh.'

'I'm just messing with you! You were great! You too Calum!'

'Aw! Thank you!'

The rest of the guys come in and they start recording the song. I'm alone with Liam.

'So are you going to sing too?'

'No just writing.'

'Oh okay. And how did all this happen?'

'Oh, well, I was here working on new songs about three days ago, and they were doing the same in the room next door. And you know, we're friends since we toured together for a while with the band. So we went out to catch up, and you know how late night jamming happens. So this random song started creating itself and then it turned to something real. And here we are.'

'That's awesome.'

'So, umm... You seem to be doing better since yesterday.'

'Yesterday?' I ask him confused.

'The issue with Niall?'

'Ugh. You had to bring that up?'

'I actually had to yeah. Cause I can see what's going on here. He's a good man. If you're going to use him for a rebound, he might look like he's up for it, like he doesn't really care, as long as he has a good fun time. But he's actually very sweet, loving and caring. I love you, Jess, you're one of my best friends now. But I've known him for years. And I can't let you hurt him like that.'

'Rebound? What? This is not what's going on! Look. Niall is in LA, he doesn't want to be with me. Why would I stay hung up on a guy who doesn't want to be with me? Luckily, he pulled the plug before I was in too deep. I haven't been thinking of Niall since I met Ash. And I don't intend to think of Niall anymore.'

'But what about what Niall said. He does like you. He's just not ready right now.'

'Exactly, right now. And honestly, now is all that matters to me. I'm not gonna cling to the idea of a possible future that might not even happen. That's not how it works. That's not how I work.'

'Alright. So what you suddenly don't have feelings for him anymore?'

'No, of course I still do. It doesn't vanish in one night. But I don't want any of it. feelings, if you don't nurture them and grow them, they'll just die out. Like flowers that you don't water and don't take care of. Eventually, my feelings for Niall will be completely gone. I'm just trying to move on with my life here.'

'What about him wanting to be best friends with you?' Liam asks me.

'When I'm sure that my feelings are gone and are not gonna come back, we can be best friends again.'

'Alright. What about Ashton?'

'What about him?'

'Do you like him?'

'I guess I kinda do, yes. I mean it's too soon to tell.'

'I really think you should take some time before jumping into something new. Like I know the Niall thing was barely a thing. But still. Don't rush into anything.'

'Alright. I'll take my time.'

After they all finish working, as they're all gathering their stuff getting ready to leave the studio, Ash walks over to where I'm sitting waiting.

'Hey, wanna go grab some pizza?' He asks me.

'I'd love some pizza!' Luke suddenly says showing up from behind Ashton, wrapping his arm around Ash's shoulders, 'Hey guys! Anyone wants pizza?' He then asks the group.

'I actually was only asking Jessie. Thanks for that Luke!' Ash sasses.

'You're totally welcome! Jess, you're coming with us right?'

'Like I'm gonna say no to pizza!'

'You guys go ahead. We'll meet you downstairs in 5.' Ash tells Luke rushing him out of the room we were in. 'Sorry about that. But umm, do you want to do something, just the two of us, sometime soon?' He asks me.

'I don't know. I'd actually love to. But you should know something. Because apparently, telling the truth is the thing to do.'

'Okay? Do you have a boyfriend or something?'

'No. But there was this guy that I liked, and who apparently liked me, but then he just friend zoned me cause he doesn't want a relationship. And it's pretty recent. So I'm still getting over that. And it's probably not fair for you to start anything before I'm sure I'm over him.'

'How recent though? Last month?'

'Recent like last week?'

'Wow, okay that is pretty recent. Alright. No pressure. Take your time. We're going to be here a while so. A month or so? Not to rush you or anything, but I'm really hoping you'll be done with him before then.'

'I'm trying my best. I really don't want to be with him or anything. It's just you know, not something that goes away that fast.'

'Don't worry, babe. I get it.'

'Really? Babe? Nop. Can't you just stick to Jessie?'

'You couldn't just stick to Ash, you had to be awesome and call me Super Saiyan! You know how much I love that show! I'm just trying something new.'

'Well keep trying. Cause it's not gonna be beautiful, and it certainly not gonna be babe.'

'Princess?'

'NO! Especially not that one!'

'Why not? Oh, did he call you that?' He teases.

'No... but it's known to be his things...'

'Right, definitely not princess then. I'll keep working on it.'

'We're starving here come on!' Mike calls us suddenly opening the door widely.

'Sorry, lost track of time.' I apologise following Mike to the parking, Ash close behind.
