Song Of The Chapter:
Only - (RX Y)Keith and Lance made their way downtown to the Garrison, as expected, after school. It was a beautiful day, and honestly Lance just felt like skipping as they walked down the small hill.
"What are you doing?" Keith chuckled, watching as Lance skipped backwards in order to continue talking to Keith.
"I dunno," Lance shrugged, a goofy smile on his face. "It's fun to skip!"
"I won't feel bad if you end up tripping over your own feet."
"Trust me, I'm skilled at skipping. I've had practice."
Keith rolled his eyes at the antics, but didn't complain. It was nice seeing Lance this happy.
If Keith was being honest, he hadn't ever seen Lance this cheerful. He supposed it was because things were getting better. Lance didn't have any big worries now, besides Mr. Z, but even then he hasn't been around in a long time. Lance finally was being accepted as a hero, he was about to have his gym performance, and he had a boyfriend (not that Keith was trying to give himself credit.) Lance was finally able to breathe, in a sense. He didn't have to worry about his dad abusing him any second, and his family was now safe.
Keith was happy, too.
Happy, because Lance was happy.
That was all he ever wanted.Lance did a 360 twirl before opening the door to the Garrison building, beckoning for Keith to go in.
"After you~"
Again, that goofy, childish behaviour.
Keith snorted and walked in. "You are in a bright mood today."
"Yeah," Lance said, a smile on his face. "Why not?"
True.
Keith couldn't help it. He took Lance's wrist and pulled him in for a sweet kiss, which honest to God made Lance melt.
"I love you," Keith said, a fond, lopsided smirk on his face.
"I love you too," Lance grinned.
Keith took Lance by the hand and they continued to the room Pidge had told them to meet in.-
"Ah, there you are!" Pidge said upon Keith and Lance's entry.
Allura, Romelle, Coran, and even Hunk were waiting.
"Oh, I wasn't aware Hunk worked here," Keith said, rather surprised.
"He doesn't, but now he might. He might be handy, and honestly that 'iron man' idea doesn't seem like a bad idea in my opinion," Pidge said with a small snort.
"Where's Shiro?" Keith asked, looking around.
"Had to do something with Adam real fast. He's coming."Speak of the devil, it was only a few seconds before Shiro entered the room.
"Sorry I was late," the tall male said, letting out a breath of air.
"No problem," Pidge said. "Now that we're all here, I'd like to show you something!"
The group gathered around, looking at the wall obviously containing something.
"I was discussing with Coran, and we decided that once Lance gets accepted, we all should have something in common with our uniforms. Something signifying our unity. So, we designed these."
With that the lights of the containers turned on.
In front of them were suits.
Each suit was a different color and style fitting the person's abilities. They remained similar in original design, yet on each of them across the chest was a symbol V.
"V?" Keith asked in minor confusion.
"Voltron." Pidge said with a smile.
"Team Voltron."
Lance walked forward, taking the suit, feeling the fabric.
Oh, was it wonderful.
"Can we try them on?" He turned and asked Pidge and Coran.
"Of course! Gotta make sure it fits."
So each of them changed into their outfits, testing the size.
"Sorry Hunk, we will make something for you," Pidge said. "We also made shirts for each of us just to wear around, you know?"
Those were handed out by Coran. Each shirt had the same V symbol in the upper right corner of the shirt.
Black for Shiro.
Pink for Allura.
Green for Pidge.
Red for Keith.
Blue for Lance.
"I don't know how to thank you," Lance said in awe, feeling the material of the suit over again.
"I don't know how to repay you..."
Coran winked. "Don't worry about that, kid.""I'm still trying to grasp at the idea of not being hated anymore."
Lance was hanging upside down on a bar at a playground, watching as the children ran around the various play structures.
"I mean, yeah, people didn't really like you all that much, but there's still some people who did."
"You don't count," Lance smirked, throwing a teasing glance over at Keith, who was seated on a bench.
"Your family," Keith reminded Lance. "People at school."
"Yeah but like... they don't know me. I doubt they'd like me if they knew I was Frost."
"Well things are changing," Keith said. "You just have to keep moving forward. Think about how many people were saved by you during the shootout. You've got to remember the good things you've done, too."
Lance's mind went back to Ryner.
"Yeah..."
Keith walked over to Lance, a soft smile on his lips as he gazed at Lance, who was still hanging from the bar.
"Hey, listen. No matter what happens, i'll support you, okay?"
Lance looked away for a moment, not able to handle Keith's sincerity.
"I know," Lance sighed. "Thank you."
Keith came forward and gave Lance a Spider-Man man kiss.
"Anything for you," he murmured. "Now come on, let's go back, it's getting late and I just wanna go home and cuddle while we watch stupid movies before shit hits the fan."
Lance grinned, loving how cute Keith sounded.
"Sounds like a deal to me."
