"And that's it!" Kurenai exclaimed, clapping her hands happily, "everything for the wedding has been completely planned and now we can relax."
She smiled at me as I carried Mirai on my shoulders.
"Well, Shikamaru needs to get a new tie," I reminded her, she just laughed.
"Can't be that bad, can it?" she asked as we walked out of the dress shop, I nodded.
"It's small on him, like a kids tie, it's quite amusing," I told her with a grin, "makes me want to see mini-Shika in a tie."
"I can't imagine him ever wearing one," she chuckled as Mirai patted my head to the beat of my walking, "I'm so excited!"
"Truthfully? I'm starting to get really nervous," I mumbled, looking down at my feet.
"Don't start getting the prewedding blues," Kurenai told me, stopping in front of me and placing both hands of what was showing of my shoulders, "you and Shikamaru, you both deserve this. You've both been through so much rubbish that this moment of happiness is something you both really need. You've lost so much, but now you're gaining something even better. Each other."
She steered me to a bench, and we sat down, I gently lifted Mirai off my shoulders and placing her on my lap.
"You both are a perfect match as well," she told me with a wink, "you're the power couple of the village."
"I wouldn't say that..." I shook my head, she took my hands in hers and looked at me seriously.
"It's your day, ok? Don't worry about anything or anyone but you and Shikamaru. And hey, maybe something amazing will happen," she smiled, "I can tell you I'm excited. I can't wait to see you in your dress and Shikamaru in his suit and you both having a great time for the first time in a while... By the way, have you asked for bridesmaids yet?"
The thought snapped and I grabbed Mirai before jumping up.
"Bloody hell, I haven't!" I shouted before giving Mirai over to Kurenai, "I'll see you later, Kure!"
"Bye!" she shouted after me as I jumped across the rooves of houses and buildings towards the Hyuga compound.

"Hinata!" I called as I reached the outer gate, it was opened by one of the Hyuga, "Hello there, I am in need to speak with Hinata?"
"Of course, continue, she'll be in the main house," the guy told me, pointing me down the street, I nodded and walked past him and towards the main house. When I did get there, I knocked and waited until the door was opened by non-other than Hanabi, her sister.
"Hello?" she greeted me with a cocked eyebrow.
"Hello, Hanabi. Is Hinata there?"
"Hinata!" Hanabi turned around as she shouted, "there's someone here for you!"
She walked away and I just kind of... stood there... awkwardly may I just add.
"Hello, y/n, come on in," Hinata appeared with a bright-ish smile, I nodded and walked in after her. We walked until she stopped at a room and walked in.
From the look, I'm guessing it was her bedroom.
"How can I help you?" Hinata asked as we both sat down.
"I have a small request," I told her, she looked at me curiously, "my wedding, would you mind being one of my bridesmaids?"
Her eyes gleamed in happiness.
"Yes!" she exclaimed, latching onto me and hugging me tightly, "I'd love to!"
"Fantastic," I smiled and hugged her back.
"Who else are you going to ask?" she asked me, I hummed in thought.
"Ino maybe? Temari definitely, but that's a message," I told her, she nodded and then stood up, "Shikamaru wants to ask Naruto to be one of his best men."
"Does Naruto even know you're getting married?" Hinata asked
"Probably not, he's one of those people who need to be told everything," I replied as she pulled me through the house and back outside, "where is he anyway, is it strange that I have only seen the same four people for the past month or so?"
"Not at all, people have been in and out the village on missions and stuff," she replied, "Naruto should be back now."
"How are you and Naruto?" I asked, "any progress?"
Her face flushed up bright red.
"M-maybe a l-little?" she replied before hitting her face a little and then pulling me up the stairs to Naruto's weird flat(/apartment). When we got there, she knocked lightly. So light that I was actually surprised that Naruto even heard it. But he did.
"Hey, Hinata, oh and y/n too!" he grinned his signature grin, "come on in!"
We nodded and followed him in.
Naruto may have grown up a bit more, but he seriously needs some intense cleaning lessons.
"I was just beginning spring cleaning," Naruto told us, "... even if its summer..."
"I was wondering if Shikamaru had spoken to you yet?" I asked, dismissing the whole messy house thing, "about being one of his best men?"
"Hm? Best men? What?" Naruto looked at me with pure confusion.
"I knew it," I sighed just as a knock echoed through the room.
"Well, aren't I Mr Popular right now?" Naruto smiled before stepping out of the room and then answering the door, "Shikamaru! We were just talking about you."
"We?" I heard Shikamaru repeat as the two of them came in, "oh. Y/n and Hinata."
He smiled and kissed me on the cheek before glaring at the room.
"Alright, you ladies get out of this horrible swamp," Shikamaru ushered me and Hinata out of the building, "first, even though it's going to be an absolute drag, we're going to clean. Then, Naruto, I have a request."
"We'll be off then," I waved and myself and Hinata walked away from the flat(/apartment), though I could tell that she really wanted to stay with Naruto.
"To Ino?" Hinata suggested once we were far enough away.
"Let's go to the messenger birds first," I told her, she nodded.
"I'm so excited!" Hinata exclaimed, spinning on her heels before walking normally again, "I'm so happy that you're getting married and with Shikamaru nonetheless!"
I smiled.
"You're one of many."
