Another Lapidot story

Peridot Pov:

Oh stars i actually did it! I apologised to Lapis, though whether she accepted it or not is another matter in itself. I spent the rest of the night excitedly thinking about how i might actually be able to get along with Lapis now that i've apologised to her, so much so that i barely get any sleep and when i wake the next morning i feel completely drained. I groggily go about my morning routine, grabbing my breakfast and heading out the door and on my way to school. 

Arriving at my morning class i plop myself down at my desk, sinking down into my chair slightly as i idly stare at the front of the classroom. My idle staring is interrupted when i feel a nudge on my arm, looking over i'm caught a little by surprise as i see Jasper grinning at me "Sup Small-fry" i look at him a second before responding "Jasper? it's not like you to actually be in class" he smirks a little as he leans back in his chair "Well, it's only for this morning, i've got practice today that i can't miss, i'm ditching after that though, wanna join me?" i shake my head softly as i sit up a little in my chair "Sorry Jasper i, uh, i have an assignment to turn in, so i can't" he shrugs slightly as he leans forward onto his desk "Eh, whatever, i guess i'll catch you some other time" i nod slightly as i look back to the front of the room "y-yeah... some other time". 

Once the class is over Jasper immediately leaves and heads to his practice while i go to my next class, which goes by as normal. When lunch rolls around i sit by myself yet again, blankly staring at the educational posters on the wall as i eat, most of my afternoon  classes go as they normally do, until my last class, which is biology. After sitting in my seat the teacher steps to the front of the class and announces that we will be doing paired projects, and that she will be picking the pairs, once she's paired up a few people in the class she looks over at me "Peridot, since you are one of my better performing students i will be Pairing you up with Ms. Lazuli so that you can help her settle into the class" i nod a little nervously as i stand up and make my way over to where Lapis is sitting, placing myself down next to her.

Nervously i look over at Lapis as the teacher places the equipment on our desk "So, um, want to get started?" she pulls out a pen and looks at one of the worksheets in front of her "sure, let's get it over with" i nod a little and we get to work on the project, only talking briefly so we can get it finished. When we're almost done with the project i turn to Lapis "U-umm Lapis, i saw Jasper this morning... he doesn't know you're back yet" she responds while still looking down at her worksheet "Good, i'd like to keep it that way" i nod a little "y-yeah, of course, i won't tell him" she sighs softly and looks up at me slightly "Look Peridot, i get that you feel bad about what you did before i moved away, and i suppose i forgive you for that, but, it might be best if we just ignore each other... for now at least" i nod my head slowly as i look down at that desk "R-right... of course" we quietly go back to finishing our work after that.

When the class finishes we both quietly get up and leave with all the other students, parting ways when we both enter the hallway, once i leave the front door i head over to one of the empty benches outside and sit myself down. I sigh softly as i watch everyone leaving the building, talking excitedly with their friends, i pull out my phone and idly scroll through some online articles, well, i tired talking to her, and, at least she accepted my apology from last night, but, she still doesn't want to talk to me, maybe i should just give up trying and leave her alone, but then again, i just feel drawn to her somehow, why is that? 

I put my phone away as a sudden idea pops into my head, i know, i could try and get her a gift of some kind, so maybe she'll start thinking better of me, i quickly get up from the bench and start to make my way to a local store to try and find something to get her. I head into town and start looking around for a store that might have something i'm looking for, i spend a good few minutes looking at store names and into windows until i come across one that could have potential Beach City Trinkets & Oddities .
