The doctor walked into the room and sat down beside me. She asked me if I remembered what happened. Of course I did.
I remember feeling dizzy in class, so I lifted my arm to ask to get a drink, and I noticed that the lump on my arm was three times bigger than normal.
"Ya, I fainted at school." I responded to the doctor.
"Good, just wanted to make sure of no head injuries. Now, I'm going to take this to get checked out." she says, holding the lump from my arm in her hand.
"Okay."
She leaves the room. Twenty minutes later, she returned, looking as if she was holding back tears.
"I'm so sorry to say this, but what you have Tammy, is skin cancer." she whispers. My mom started bawling when she heard this.
"How long does she have left?" asks my mom
"Unfortunately, because you came in too late for treatment, I'd say two to three months."
And that was when the room went completely silent.
