"You're late," Professor Four said, scowling at the two freshmen who just stumbled into the classroom. Teddy silently thanked fate for the fact that she and her friends arrived on time to Professor Four's class. Even though Professor Four wasn't nearly as terrifying as Eve, it was still clear that you didn't want to get on the Professor's bad side. Unfortunately for the two teens at the front of the room, they made the mistake of showing up late to their class on the first day of school.
"Aw, come on! We're only a minute late! " the boy at the front of the classroom whined.
"Yeah, we're really sorry and we promise to not do it again." The girl next to him told the professor.
"Wow, Felicity, Stefan. Way to start your school year on the right foot," A girl sitting near the back of the class snarked. The two at the front of the room just glared at her as she smirked.
"Silence, Lila!" the professor screeched. Wincing, Teddy automatically covered her ears before quickly removing them, for fear of Professor Four's reaction. Luckily, the professor didn't notice, instead turning to Felicity and Stefan. "You two, detention during lunch!"
Lila snickered.
"Lila! Detention during lunch as well!" Professor Four yelled out. "Now go to your seats! Now!"
As Felicity and Stefan rushed to their seats, the professor turned and smiled at the class. "Now, it's time for everyone's favorite subject; algebra!"
"I hate algebra!" a girl with messy black hair yelled out.
"Detention for you as well, Fanny!"
"I hate detention!"
"Too bad," Professor Four said sternly.
"Is there anything you don't hate?" the blonde guy sitting next to Fanny asked her.
"No."
"Oh..."
"Ahem," Professor Four cleared their throat. "Anyways, welcome to Algebra Class. Now, I'm going to be honest, I don't actually care about getting to know any of you, so let's jump right into our first lesson. But first, I need to see just how stupid you all are- I mean, evaluate your current knowledge."
Well, Sawyer was right to tell us to say our final goodbyes, Teddy thought. Usually, teachers wait until the second day to do this. Or at the very least, they do icebreakers first.
"Time to take the start of year quiz!" Professor Four said, passing out test packets to everyone. Now, Teddy was actually pretty cool with academics and tests when compared to the rest of her classmates, so she had no reason to have a bias against teachers. However, Teddy swore that she saw a glint of malice in the Professor's eyes. "You've got FOUR minutes, class. Now get to work!"
As Teddy looked down at the packet, she couldn't help but let out a silent sigh of relief now that the Professor has stopped yelling. With the newfound relief, she worked through the test packet as quickly as she could. Unfortunately however, four minutes passed by way too fast.
Crap, Teddy thought as she handed her test packet to the Professor. If I just had a minute more, I would have been able to finish. But from everyone else's reactions, I seem to be just one of many who didn't finish on time. Actually, the only one who didn't seem bothered is Dora, but Dora never seems bothered anyways.
"Okay, everyone," Professor Four said, "First, we're going to talk about perfect squares. What's the most important perfect square? Wrong, it's four!"
"But what abou-?" One of Teddy's classmates protested softly before being cut off.
