After the song, I decide I needed find Spinel.
She could be lost, or hurt or worse... shattered. My fuzzy feeling went hard and painful as I ran out of the building. Where would she have gone? I ran too Steven's house, maybe she went there? I sprinted in to see the her stood on the warp pad, turning to see me. Going to tackle her, she went through the warp, being transferred into the sky.
When I came out, I was in a garden. It was unkempt, overgrown. The pillars were battered. I noticed they had stars on them, like the crystal gem star. They were covered in roses, and chunks were missing.
"Spinel..." I reached out to touch her shoulder. She moved away, smacking my hand.
"We were only.... she said.... we were only p-playing a game." She choked out.
"What? Spinel, look-"
She turned too look at me.
"Here in the garden, let's play a game, I'll show you how it's done. Here in the garden, stand very still. This will be so much fun"
Spinel grabbed my hand and pulled me in a slow dance.
"And the she smiled, that's what I'm after. The smile in her eye, the sound of her laughter"
She spun me, looking me in the eyes and pulling me into a hug from behind.
"Happy too listen, happy to play, happily watching her drift away"
We swayed while she sang, and then I was pulled into a waltzing stance.
"Happily waiting, all on my own, under the endless sky"
I fell back, and she held my hand and pulled me back up
"Counting the seconds, standing alone, as thousands of years went by"
Spinel pulled me close to her, tears forming in her eyes.
"Happily wondering, night after night, is this how I do it, I am doing it right?"
She pushed me away and turned her back on me.
"Happy to listen, happy to stay, happily watching her drift away
She started running, holding my as we ran, like before.
"You keep on, turning pages, for people who don't care! People who don't care about you"
She span, looking me in the eye.
"And still it takes you ages to see that no ones there, see that no ones there, everyone gones on without you..."
She fell too her knees, I stood next to her.
"Finally something, finally news, about how the story ends. She doesn't exist now, revived by her son, and all of her brand new friends."
She got up, tears filling her face and looked at me.
"Isn't that lovely, isn't that cool? It's it cruel and aren't I fool?"
She grasped my hand
"To have, happily listened, happy to stay, happy to watch her drift away"
She started glowing, her gem turning upside down. I watched as she started reforming back to her new style.
Spinel's eyes were filled with tears. I wiped her tears away as she hugged me, hysterical.
"Y-Y/N, I'm s-s-so s-sorry I-I" she started coughing, as I held her.
"Shhh, shhh.... calm down, I'm here... Spinel I'm here."
We both fell to our knees, I started crying.
I looked into her eyes, they were the same dark glimmering.
"Y/N, I-I..."
"Shhhh shhhh" her head landed on my shoulder.
"Y/N.... I- I"
"W-what?"
"I-I.... l-love you"
"I-" my heart was beating rapidly. "I love you too"
