2 years have passed since I "died". Me and Spinel bought a house together, with help from Steven, in little homeworld and Spinel got a driver's license. Today, we were going to a BBQ at Steven's house.
"Y/N? Are you ready?" Spinel called out, happily tapping her foot.
"Coming!" I replied, running over, kissing her cheek. Spinel grabbed my hand and opened the car door.
"Thank you, my lady" I announced, stepping into the car. Spinel stretched herself over me and sat in the driver's seat.
"Are you ready to see my driving skills?" Spinel professed, smiling manically.
"Hell yeah!" I almost managed to get my words out before she sped off, giggling. I grabbed the hand strap, screeching.
We got to the beach as Steven had already set up the BBQ. Garnet was cooking with a apron that said "the chef is already in a relationship please keep your space she is stronger than you thank you for your time"
Amethyst and pearl were playing Lapis and Peridot at volley ball and Bismuth and Greg were talking under an umbrella.
"Y/N, Spinel, you're here!" Steven shouted, waving at us from by the BBQ.
"They gonna need to stay hydrated, you too" Garnet muttered to Steven, smiling.
"How was the ride?"
"Good!" Spinel said
"Bumpy" I added.
As It got late, we started eating. There was range of food, me and Spinel sharing the kebabs. Peridot told us the story about how she "accidentally" got arrest. It was, interesting, story to say the least.
Later Steven sat down and played his guitar, Connie leaning on his shoulder. We chatted, about life. Garnet told us about Steven as a baby and Pearl did a shadow puppet show about Amethyst doing stupid stuff. Althroughout the night, Spinel was talking in depth to Lapis. I wasn't getting Jealous, but maybe concerned. She was never this quiet, not even when she accidentally got her head stuck on a door handle last while trying to open a door.
"Y/N?" Lapis spoke up, cutting through the silence.
"Yeah?"
"Spinel would like to talk to you..." Lapis nugged Spinel as she stood up.
We walked down the beach, holding my hand.
"Y/N, I've been meaning to ask you something. You see, I never thought I'd be anything other than a play mate for Pink Diamond, a disposable gem to be replaced eventually and then you came into my life I've never felt so, alive and free. Freedom is what you gave me, so I'm going to give you my heart.
Spinel got on one knee and pulled out a ring. It had large magenta gemstone on it and was made of gold.
"Y/N. Make me the happiest gem on homeworld, say that you'll marry me."
