Day Five of the Challenge
This morning I woke up in horrible condition. My vision seemed to be leaving me and I vomited all over. My throat hurt like there was a demon inside it, eating it. There was also burning in my nose, eyes, and tongue. I phoned my mom and she came home to take me to the hospital. I waited in the waiting room for a long time in pain. I vomited again – this time there was blood - and that’s when the doctors decided to take me early.
By the end of the appointment, we found out I had detergent poisoning. The doctor said it was a good thing I got help today rather than tomorrow, but I’d still have to stay in the hospital for a few days. So that’s what happened. During those few days I took lots of medicine and pills and I had lots of time to think.
Now…just because true love’s kiss didn’t work, doesn’t mean my crush is not meant to be with me. Maybe it just wasn’t the right day. Maybe the princesses all had their true love’s kisses on Mondays. Maybe it didn’t work because I wasn’t being filmed. All the princesses had theirs filmed. How do you think I found out about them? Anyway, As soon as I get out of this hospital bed and back into school, I have to continue.
My new idea: Kidnap him, bring him into a dark room, and talk some sense into him. It seems over the top, right? It’s not. It’s perfectly sane. Trust me.
A few days in the hospital turned into a week. I was all alone because mom was always at work. Finally one day I had a surprise waiting for me, and I wasn’t alone anymore. My whole class came to see me! They made their way through the door and crowed around my bed. It seemed they all held get-well-soon cards for me. I smiled when I saw Penny, but I smiled even more when I saw my crush. In fact, my face lit up. A beautiful thought came to me. I realized I didn’t have to wait till I got back into school. I could work my plan now!
I leaped out of my bed, grabbing my blanket with me, and threw it onto his head so he couldn’t see anything. I hugged him so he couldn’t get out of it. I pulled him onto the floor and dragged him out of the room. He was screaming and trying to get free all the while.
The students were tagging behind, some yelling and some with horrible expressions, but they didn’t know what to do. I turned the knob of the first closet I came to, only to find out it was locked. I guess it didn’t matter anyway, since my teacher was right there. She pushed me aside and helped the terrified victim to his feet. She took the blanket off his head, brought it back into the hospital room, and then told the students our visit was over. On the way out, she gave me a scolding look.
I didn’t care. I did what I had to do.
