Sky whistled when he landed on the checkpoint next to him.
"Well, you're not so bad yourself,"
"Hey, if we continue to be this good, we can video the next map and put it onto that youtube channel you have," Ty says and opens the chest for more food. But instead, he finds a bow and arrow.
"Woah Woah Woah!" Sky yelped and stepped back. Ty laughed and aimed towards the tower with buttons this time. He squinted and pursed his lips trying to focus on the buttons, but Sky being right next to him and almost breathing down his neck didn't help much. "Well, would be a shame if I were to punch you right now,"
"Sky, no."
Ty's face burned of frustration when Sky fingers pressed onto his sides.
"Sky I will actually shoot you,"
The man beside him laughed and stepped aside finally, giving Ty some room to breathe. He shot onto the 3 buttons as needed. Sky cheered before starting to run down the platforms to head for the giant tower for them to climb.
"Having fun, Sky?"
"Not as fun as I would be when I find Budder ore, but yeah, it's not that bad," Sky says and hopped the next few steps. "Let me shoot the next time, alright?"
"Yeah letting you touch anything with a sharp point is a good idea,"
"Have you been keeping track of ghast tears by any chance?" Sky asked the moment he caught up with Ty, bending over to catch his breath.
"Uh... yeah, 4,"
"What?! I only got 3!"
"Huh, too bad. Like what Mitch said the other day, some people are better at looking out for certain things," Ty grinned and skipped through the next few platforms. "And I have had years of experience while looking out for you clumsy ass,"
"Oh fuck off,"
Ty grinned as he paused on a platform to turn around and punch Sky off his momentum mid-jump. The budder lover screeched when he fell backwards, landing back onto the previous platform. Ty smirks but dashes off before his best friend could exact his revenge by mutilating his hair.
"You motherfucker, get back here!"
He took no notice of his friend's orders, swiftly scaling the next few platforms until he reached the checkpoint at the top of a mountain. The next checkpoint was nowhere in sight, the platforms winding and scaling down the mountain towards the unknown destination, leading Ty to realise that he should probably wait for the other here instead of moving off forward without him.
Sky paused when Ty stops at the top, a pout coming on to his face until he spots a chest, wedged into the side of the mountain a little off the trail of platforms they had been following, a chest that Ty seemingly missed earlier on. A grin quickly appeared onto his face.
"Ha Ha Ty!" Sky mocked. Ty tilted his head innocently at the other. "You missed a ghast tear~! Ooh, lookie here, guess who is bringing this score competition to a tie!" He laughed while skipping through the next few platforms.
"Oh No!" Ty's voice was dripping with sarcasm, leading to Sky almost wanting to throw a piece of steak to hit that gremlin in the face. He looked up briefly, watching in horror when Ty starts breaking pieces of dirt underneath him. "Would be a shame... if I were to get there first..."
"Ty no! That's breaking the rules!"
"Oh since when have we ever followed the rules in our life, Sky,"
He growled under his breath because at this rate Ty was going to get that ghast tear that he found. He'ss o close to getting that ghast tear, he's not going to let all his efforts go to waste just because Ty has the upper ground in this case. Oh, he was going to prove that little midget wrong.
Adrenaline rushed through Sky, leading him to sprint through the next platforms with surprising speed. The moment his feet landed on the blocks of wool, they left before the next second, stretching out to land on the next one. Ty paused to watch his best friend breeze through the platforms with surprising ease.
"You're not getting this ghast tear, Ty!" Ty sees the large smile present on his lips when Sky jumped the last time to be in reach of the chest. All he has to do is land...
Ty's heart stopped when he sees Sky's body hit the side of the platform. He watches helplessly, sees his best friend's body starts falling down the height of the mountain. Sky's face morphed from grinning to fear, shock and his mouth open to cry out for help.
"No-! Ty! Help!"
Skythekidrs fell from a high place.
It's so cold.
Ty tries to swallow after reading the death message that has been broadcasted throughout the world. It doesn't work. He kneels down and peered over the edge of the cliff, trying to see his best friend's dead body. It doesn't work, and all he can see is the items Sky had been carrying, strewn about on the grassy terrain.
He feels high, he feels like he's about the vomit trying to figure out what has happened. Blood rushing to his brain, trying to fuel it to process everything that has happened, trying to tell himself everything is okay. But it's not, Sky's dead.
Oh, notch. Ty realises while he tries to teach himself how to breathe.
"SKY!"

"Notch dammit," Sky muttered as he respawned in the last checkpoint, the checkpoint in the Taiga biome. He groaned loudly, quickly realising the distance he'd probably have to cross just to get back to that freaking ghast tear, and back to Ty.
Yeah no, he ain't doing that.
"Fuck this shit,"

"I hope you're not laughing Ty, it was the lag-"
Ty looked up from the floor and Sky flinches seeing the clear glaze that has gone over his maroon irises. He's kneeling on the floor, right beside where he assumed his best friend has died a few moments ago. His hand lay flat against the dirt and pieces of Sky's inventory were still strewn about, unattended.
Ty's hand seemed to be around a particular piece of steak that he seems to be mourning. Sky wondered if he knew that cow before it met his demise or something.
Sky has to take a few moments to finish processing everything that is going on. It takes a while and by the time he can come up with a sentence, Ty has already stood up.
"Uh... you okay? What's going on?" He asks and watches Ty's throat lump up as he swallowed.
"Nothing, I just, you know, came down here to pick up your things before it despawned," He murmured.
"Well, you did a great job, Ty," Sky laughed and squat down to pick up his things, not before he patted the other teen on his head. He waited for the other to speak out and respond after his sarcastic comment, but he stayed strangely quiet behind him. Sky frowned and turned around, still squatting down. "You okay buddy?"
"Ye.. yeah!" Ty moved his headphones away and scratched at the area behind his ear nervously. "You know, I just had a near heart attack when I saw you fall down from the mountain,"
"Aw, how sweet," Sky laughed, finished picking up his stuff and stood up. He looked up from where Ty had come from, eyeing the jumps that would be required to reach where he is now without getting injured.
Ty flinched when Sky whistled all of a sudden. "Wow, that's quite some impressive jumps you had to do to get down here. My stuff is really important to you, huh?" He flashed him a large grin, before kneeling down to start digging out dirt blocks to climb back up to the top of the mountain.
Ty watches his best friend become... occupied in his new job in mining out the brown blocks. All he can do is sigh and calm himself down, finding space next to a nearby wall to sit down. His heart slowed down as he watches his best friend laugh and grins while piling up the dirt to the top of the mountain.
It's all become so calm all of a sudden.
