"I have never seen anything so beautiful before in all my life." Spinning around I saw Caspian staring at me in awe. Blushing I turned away.
"I do that when I'm angry. It's a great release for frustration." I explained as he got closer.
"Forgive me if I'm being to forward my Queen, but I was worried about after what your brother said in there."
"There's no need. Peter has been jealous of me for a long time. Ever since we left Narnia the first time. I know he loves me but he also resents me. Many years ago, in the time of the White Witch, Peter, went head to head with her and nearly died. I rescued him. That was the first blow to his pride. The next was when Aslan made me High Queen instead of him being High King, he tried not to let it get to him but that jealousy has been festering inside of him for nearly twenty years. And when Lucy threw it in his face that I was the one who killed the White Witch, it made everything that much worse." I explained as we walked. "But I had hoped that he would see reason. His plan to reinforce his standing and to rebuild his pride is going to get us killed."
"I will protect you my Queen. Even if it costs me my life." Caspian declared.
"Freya."
"What?"
"Call me Freya. Please, I have been called a Queen in some time now."
"Alright, Freya." He hummed as if saying my given name gave him pleasure. "Freya," He whispered gently grabbing my hand, turning me to face him. "You are the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on." I felt the blood rush to my cheeks as he stepped closer.
"Caspian..." Leaning up to his lips as his descended on mine was heart stopping...that is until someone cleared their throat. Jumping apart, I saw badger smiling at us.
"It is time. King Peter has made a battle plan."
_______
"Freya," Peter whispered coming up beside me as we waited for the signal. "About earlier-"
"Don't."
"Bu-"
"I said don't. I don't want your pathetic excuses. You meant every word." I snapped glaring at him. "And that is why Aslan made me High Queen. Cause he knew I wouldn't let the power go to my head like you. I was the most talented battle strategist Narnia has had in a very long time, I was respected for my intelligence in the art of war. And you, you were so desperate to prove that you're better than me, that you were, are, the better choice for king than Caspian is, that you are sending us to are deaths. So no don't bother with fake apologizes. Because I am done forgiving you." Walking up to one of the many Griffins, I allowed him to wrap his talons around me and we flew up into the air, soon followed by Peter and Caspian. Just as Ed's torch flashed through the sky, my feet hit the ground silently at the window seal. "Professor." Caspian whispered pushing the window open. Stepping inside we saw that the room was in disarray. "We have to find him!" "We don't have time. You have to go and open the gates." Peter hissed. "You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. And neither would I." Caspian snapped glaring at him. Peter looked at me and Susan. "You and I can deal with Miraz." Susan whispered looking at our brother. "I'll go with Caspian." I spoke up, drawing my sword and we stole away into the dark hallways of the castle. Slowly and quietly making our way down to the dungeons was a bit more time consuming than I had a originally thought, but soon enough we found where the Professor was being held. "Go. I'll stand guard." I whispered raising my sword. Nodding his head, Caspian rushed down the stairs to where his beloved father figure was being held. The minutes started to tick by it seemed, as it was taking Caspian much longer to come back. Just as I was about to go get them, Caspian came barreling passed me. "Caspian!" I called in panic, but just as I was about to follow him an old man, Professor Cornelius, I assumed, grabbed my hand. "He is going after his uncle. He now knows the terrible truth of what happened to his father." He explained. Understanding, almost immediately, I rushed after him. "Put it down Caspian. I don't want to do this." A woman's voice spoke from the king's bedroom. "We don't want you to either!" I snapped as I pushed the door open and Susan and Peter joined me. Aiming their weapons at her. "Did you kill my father!?" Caspian sneered. "We tel-marines would have nothing if we had not taken it. You're father knew that better than anyone." Miraz smirked. "How could you?" The woman whispered quietly. "For the same reason you will pull that trigger. For our son. Don't you want our child to be king? Or do you wish him to be like Caspian here? Fatherless!?" Miraz taunted, playing on her maternal instincts, causing her to shot Caspian. Luckily it merely grazed his shoulder. In the slight chaos Miraz was able to slip away and sound the alarm. Rushing out of the room, Susan, Caspian and I had planned to retreat as our plans had gone awry but Peter was making his way towards the court yard. "Peter!" I snapped. "Our troops are just outside!" He yelled back. Rushing after him I saw him fight off two Tel-marines and then go towards the gate. "Peter. It's too late." I snapped grabbing his shoulder. "We have to call it off while we still can!" "No! I can still do this!" He growled, jerking away from me and fixing on lifting up the gate. "Exactly who are you doing this for Peter!?" Susan snapped as we helped him bring up the gate. He didn't answer, merely glanced at her. Soon the gates were open and I ran up to Glenstorm as he held out his hand to me. Pulling me up onto his back, we fought harder than ever before. Standing up on his back I raised my sword and leapt forward slicing through several Tel-marines at once. Spinning around I shoved my sword through the soldier who tried to sneak up on me. Fighting left and right, the Tel-marines kept coming, like a never ending sea. "No!" I scream as I saw one of the minotaurs being pushed off a balcony. I heard a roar coming from behind and turned just as another Minotaur propped open the gate as it started to close "Fall back!" I screamed. "We need to retreat now!" I yelled towards Glenstorm. "Get everyone out of the gates, hurry!" "Find Caspian!" Susan yelled as Glenstorm pulled her up onto his back. Just as I was about to I saw Peter pushing Caspian up onto a horse and riding towards the gates. Looking around, I knew. This was it. No more running, no more hiding. It was over, we had lost but I was going to take as many Tel-marines down with me as possible. As we fought we made our way towards the gates, in hopes of getting out as many people as possible but soon our companion fell under the pain and pressure. Knowing there was no way out now, us Narnians shared a silent moment before letting out one last battle before storming at the enemies. Soon I was the last one standing, but I kept fighting. Fighting for Narnia, fighting for Aslan and fighting for everyone we lost tonight. Just as I lifted my sword once more, I felt the searing pain of Miraz's sword piercing my back. And just like in my vision he spoke the same words and wore the same smirk. But none of it matter. Because it was over. The Narnians lost.
Third P.O.V
Edmund felt the pain rip through him in a instant, forcing him to bite his lip so hard he bleed. He knew that this pain was not his own. Sweeping his gaze across the returning army, he noticed that one face was missing. His twin. In a panic he forced the griffin to turn around and head back to Miraz's castle Looking over the bloddied bodies carefully, he felt his heart stop. All the blood in his body ran cold as his worse fears were realized. There, laying dead on a pile of bloddied and shredded Tel-marines, was his beloved sister. The griffin flew higher as to avoid detection but all Edmund could feel or think about was the pain and sadness of losing the only person who understood him. Landing down outside of the howl Edmund saw Peter and Caspian at each other's throats. "Stop it!" He screamed jumping off the griffin. "What do you think you are doing!?" "This is all his fault!" Peter snapped. "If he had just stuck to the plan-" "No!" Edmund cut him off in anger and pain. "This is your fault!" He snapped shocking everyone. "Mine!?" "Yes! Your's! Freya told you what would happen, she told you that this was suicide! And you didn't listen! Because all you care about is proving that you're still a king! And because of that she's dead!" Silence filled the area as his words rang out. "N-no, s-she's not she..." Susan stuttered in pain. "She is. I saw her body." Edmund whispered. "And it's all your fault." He glared at Peter. Though no one said it aloud, everyone felt the same way. This was Peter's fault....
