Raised as a Mundane for her entire life
Found out that she was a Shadowhunter when she was 18

Adopted and raised by the Lightwoods as a child
Friends with the Lightwood children
Eventually becoming a parabatai with Alec Lightwood

Both Clary and Jace ran into each other outside of the Pandemonium Club
They seemed to follow in love with each other
Jace did not realize Clary was a Shadowhunters or new Shadowhunters existed
Clary did not realize what world she was apart of
She followed Jace to the New York Institute for more information

Their relationship was many interesting turns
In the beginning, they were a normal couple who are in love
Then they got false information that they are blood-related siblings
Then Jace and Clary broke up and moved on for a little bit
However, Jace found out that they are not related and he is a Herondale and not a Morgenstern
Moments later, Clary found out
They seem to resume their relationship though they were possessed by Clary's actual brother or his mother for a little bit
After all that, they remained together and became stronger together
