Slowly, Jesse swam back into consciousness, vaguely aware of the pounding in his head, the pool of blood beneath him. He was back in the same cell, he silently cursed under his breath as he forced himself into a semi-sitting position. One look at his blood-soaked leg and he knew that whoever it was who captured him did not intend on him surviving. That very thought sent a shiver down Jesse's spine, and he pushed the thought to the back of his mind. Without a moment's hesitation, his fingers wrapped around the bars of the cage, slightly rattling them as he shouted,
"Hey, assholes! You ever going to let me out?"
A groan of frustration escaped his mouth as he fell back, a hopeless sensation overwhelming him.
"Jesse, I thought you were...smart."
Jesse froze at the mention of his name, immediately noticing the small speaker in the corner of the cell.
"Demanding that we let you out is not going to make us let you out." Jesse's face contorted in anger.
"Fuck you!" He spat.
"Fine, have it your way." Jesse's breathing was shallow and labored as he did little to suppress his anger, lashing out at the guard who appeared outside of the cell.
The guard was quick to react, grabbing Jesse's wrist and yanking it downwards, dragging Jesse forward. A pair of handcuffs were draped around Jesse's wrists, and Jesse barely had any time to wonder what horrors awaited him.
He was crammed in a similar room from before, yet slightly different - there was a drain in the middle of the room. Jesse's gaze hardened as it met the mute guard's, accompanied by another guard.
"So-"
"I'm not giving you the fucking passcode." Jesse snapped. "Ooh, struck a nerve, wither slayer?" One of the men retorted.
"When I get out of here, I'm going to tear you apart." Jesse sneers.
"Afraid that won't be happening anytime soon, sorry."
Jesse felt something cold drip on his shoulder, hand instinctively reaching up to his shoulder. Water. Confused, he looked up, another drop landing right in his face. He looked up at the sinister expression on both of the guards and then he realized what was going on. The water started filling up, fast. Within a matter of seconds, it was already up to his chest, the panicked thoughts consuming him. He felt the icy water splash against his face, taking one final breath before the water was already over his head. His whole body felt numb, chest beginning to ache as he held his breath. His whole vision was blurred since he was underwater, and he was struggling to hold his breath. After around a minute, he knew he couldn't last much longer, and made the mistake of opening his mouth - if only for a split second. It was as if his chest exploded, a searing pain radiating throughout his body. He heaved violently, even more water filling his lungs. To his relief, the water started draining, and as soon as he was able to dip his head above the water, he gagged, wheezing as he choked up water. All the water had drained at that point. He slumped to his knees, the dull ache in his chest slowly deteriorated, though his thoughts were still rather foggy.
"Had enough yet?" Jesse took a minute to process the sentence, before answering. "Never."
"Then you just wait and see."
